Why do us and Sunderland always seem to go for the same players?

Different sources saying that Newcastle or Sunderland likely to sign him. More articles seem to be showing us as the most likely club, but the NE clubs seem to come into conflict quite often when it comes to signings.

Is it the press trying to stir up ****?

 

However much I'd like us to sign this guy I doubt we are really in for him. We have signed Alfie N'Diaye who looks a bit similar to me.

Think his agent has been speaking to you this week so maybe he's been offered to us as well as I think Tolouse want rid in this window.

 

Because if I'm honest were no different from each other really there is nothing in it, I think you will find all clubs are more or less aware of who is available and whos worth bidding for.

 

Kat has it spot on I reckon. We are very similar in terms of the level we play at and the types of players we want to get in, we have similar support and ambitions and (most importantly) we're out in the north-east as opposed to being in London (where alot of foreign players want to be). Once you take out the london clubs, the top clubs and the clubs who are newly promoted/ relegation fodder (for the purposes of this I'm not including Newcastle...) there are only about 4-5 clubs left and we always get linked with the same players. Mostly lazy journo's tbh.

I just don't see us getting him in this window for £3.5 when we can have him for free in the summer. He's a CDM and we already have Tiote - this completely goes against the shower of ****e purple player stuff that LameArse has said...Most likely eventuality is that we lose Tiote in the summer and bring this lad in. Maybe I'm being cynical but that's the way we operate these days.

As for us and Sunderland going for hte same players - it makes good reading which means it sells papers...The liklihood half the Premier League will have made inquiries, maybe even a cheeky bid, but who gives a **** if its us and Villa or Liverpool - us and Sunderland is suddenly newsworthy!

I think he has already said he is waiting till the summer anyway. I think its more a case of being linked with the same players as opposed to actually going for them. The press are pretty lazy.

 

All national newspapers have regional editions. Print only what people of the NE want to read and exctly what's said above. Play ream off one another to sell papers. NW is all about Man U/ManC Liverpool.
Keep your money and read on line. Newspapers are full of made up crap.
