I know it's a bit early to be thinking about the run in, but there are some interesting games in the last 8 for each of the teams battling for 3rd and 4th. I think the top two will be between the Manchester clubs, with Utd just edging it. The battle below that I think will be contested between Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and Everton. So here are the fixtures for the last 8 games for each club:

    Arsenal:

    Reading H
    WBA A
    Norwich H
    Fulham A
    Man Utd H
    QPR A
    Wigan H
    Newcastle A

    Chelsea:

    Southampton A
    Sunderland H
    Spurs H
    Liverpool A
    Swansea H
    Man Utd A
    Villa A
    Everton H

    Spurs:

    Swansea A
    Everton H
    Chelsea A
    Man City H
    Wigan A
    Southampton H
    Stoke A
    Sunderland H

    Everton:

    Stoke H
    Spurs A
    QPR H
    Sunderland A
    Fluham A
    Liverpool A
    Wesy Ham H
    Chelsea A

Spurs, Chelsea and Everton all have to play each other, so they will be taking points from each other. Spurs also have to go to Swansea and Stoke as well as play Man City at home. Everton have to play Liverpool away and Chelsea have to go to Liverpool and Man Utd.I know you can't draw too many conclusions from any of this, but apart from our game against Man Utd (at home) our run in looks to be more favourable on paper . . .

when you start losing to teams like Bradford , you cant draw conclusions from anything.

Until we get some consistency back i have no reason for optimism .

Agree we need some more consistency, but we've only lost once in the last 11 league games.

When you have lost 1 in 11 league games, I think one off Cup Games won't count for much. Though more consistency is needed

I think what we need to do more than most, is turn draws into wins. Ultimately it's better to win one, lose one and draw one, than draw all three.

    really .

i suppose if 4th place can be called a trophy , then getting knocked out of a cup can be called a draw .

    Why not. <ok>

we'll pretend we are still in it , turn up at wembley on the day , and maybe no one will notice.

We drew the game 1-1.Have a look at any of the penalty scores statistics and those goals will not be counted
P.S you didn't say we got knocked out you said we lost <ok>

Fair play the majority of Citeh fans i know are long standing fans who have followed them through thick & thin and don't think football started in 1992 unlike the majority of plastic UTD fans <ok>

The thing about our run is that our final three games could be against teams that are fighting to stay in the PL, so not going to be easy, much better to play teams that are likely to be safe and have nothing to play for.

Yep it could be tricky. I don't think Newcastle will be in a relegation battle, but Wigan and QPR are quite likely to be.

Our fixture list is not really that easy on paper. We have some tough away games at Fulham, West Brom, and Newcastle. Irrespective of Newcastle's form, St. James Park has often been a tough place for us, the last time I recall us winning there in the league was in the 2009.

Then at home we face United, against whom we have a very very piss poor record recently, home, and away. And Wigan and Norwich may seem easy on paper, but remember what happened when we faced them last season at home around the same time? We lost to Wigan, and drew to Norwich.

Wow, Everton have to play 4 of their last 5 games away from home? That's ****ed up and majorly unfair to them.

I would have kept it real and changed this thread to Battle for 4th + 5th.
Realistically we need Chelsea to beat both Spurs and Everton. As for their other matches - I do not really care. They are in a different league. Aka Top Three.

You'll need to go to Chelsea and Spurs and win both IMO. Spurs have a very tough April but away from home they are a lot better than in previous seasons. If Spurs match better your result next Sunday your in real trouble. Nothing can be won at this stage but plenty can be lost.
