The problem is the players, not the manager. Well done lads, you got your way but mark my words, if the 12 think that they will still be out under the new manager, they will get him sacked as well, and the next one, and the next one, until they get one who might give them a chance. Most of the old dross must go and in fact, I wouldn't play any of them again apart from Skuse and Steady who at least have enough pride in their own perfomances to rise above this (although even the latter's ball contol stank this afternoon). SIMPLES....
Shiny, do you really think that a professional footballer who gets paid £1,000's per week needs to be told how to play...?
To be honest I think most managers would be happy with the current squad, would have been even happier if Woolford was here as who ever comes in is likely to favour 4-4-2 and anderson is currently our only wide player with albert away. but who ever comes in will have another issue of he will need to sell before he can buy. goes to show the signing of Kelly may have been a mistake by the club as the new manager may not ven want him
Yes obviously, If not why do we need a manager? McInnes lost the plot prem, With selections and tactics. Its raised many of eyebrows. It sums it up that Keith Millen had a better winning rate than McInnes
Shiny -as you know, we have had a non existant midfield attacking wise since GJ went. Coppell and Millen failed to address this and sadly for him, DM put too much faith in some and it cost him his job. Doesn't hide the fact that it is our players who are clueless in midfield as evidenced by today (again). What worries me is that we might now get transfer requests from Cunningham, Baldock and Davies and frankly, I wouldn't blame them one bit. I wouldn't want to play with a bunch of S****horpes who got a manager sacked. You watch, they will be 200% better next game..
I would think Baldock and Davies might be happy to have a new manager as both kept getting dropped by Del even when they had a good game
We now just have to wait and see how the dross perform for the new manager. If they perform well, they will be damning themselves but they are probably just too dense and thinking of their next new Chelsea tractor to bother. They have won again for now (Wilson, Tinnion, Johnson, Coppell, Millen, McInnes). And if we follow City history they will see off the next one!
Oh really - so if the manager says 4-4-2 or 5-3-2 or whatever, then as a professional footballer, you still need telling what to do (apart from any specific marking requirements)...?
of course you do.. why does every team play a different style? Because the managers tell them to.. it's not just "play 4-4-2 put ya boots on".. why do swansea have a brilliant philosiphy of passing and moving.. whilst stoke have a horrible tactic of lumping and hoping??The players don't decide how they play..
Oh I see, you mean the pattern of play that I have been banging on about since Johnson's day... That's down to not having players good enough to operate any meaningful plan, this afternoon when they were all looking at each other with no clue what to do should have been ample evidence of that. There is a saying, "you can't educate pork" and we have way too much of the pork left over from the Johnson/Coppell/Millen era...
You roll that one out every time but you really need to get your facts right - of the starting line up, 5 were DM's signings (McManus is a short term stop gap) or if you want to count him, 7 out of the 14. THAT'S HALF A SIDE, so he had NO CHOICE but to play the old dross and, it cost him his job and IMO, Gerken and Fontaine did it on purpose today. If SL has any guts, he would sack them instantly for gross misconduct. 22 Gerken 02 Foster 04 Fontaine 12 Wilson(Burns - 46' ) 17 Cunningham 19 McManus 10 Kelly (Reid - 78' ) 14 Skuse 15 Pearson 09 Stead (Anderson - 46' ) 16 Davies
**** sake LAN stop being so ****ing argumentative Dels gone which is what you wanted and left us with Baldock Davies Anderson Cunningham Heaton Possibly Kelly could be good, also Bates is an improvement on what we had, a lot of other clubs were looking at him but he is not under contract much longer nor Mark Wilson. Yes he left us with Foster Edwards could replace, Pearson who has been replaced by Kelly and Morris who don't need replacing as the prick don't play. At the end of the day that twat is only here for 3 more months.
long term/short term/loan mciness bought them in.. therefore he's their playes.. do you struggle with that concept..? No doubt when our new manager walks in and we start to lose you'll blame the manager.. and not the players.
del left us with a few decent players, a **** load of overpayed crap and 6 points from safety.. But he's a nice bloke though
