Goochie is out for the night, so asked me to post it up for him. So get your votes in, will do my own when i have got an idea of who to vote for.
For me, Aluko is the only man who could leave that field with his head held high. For that reason: 1) Aluko 2) McShane 3) Mclean
1) Brady - only one who looked like he cared 2) Hobbs - another faultless display 3) aluko - a few good runs but can't do it all on his own I'm surprised Chester is getting votes, I thought he was the weakest of our defenders, gave the ball away far too often
I dont remember chester giving more than a ball away. The whole time he seemed steady. I am surprised Brady is getting votes. How many tries do you need to get the ball past the first man on a corner? Although Brady did look like one of the only people who cared out there today. Actually to be fair I am surprised anyone but Oxley is getting votes. He was the only one on the pitch who didnt **** up today.
Agree about Chester but I'd add Brady to the list of surprising nominations. Few times he got beaten and just stopped, didn't look like he cared that much to me. Everyone was so bad that Aluko had to come deeper than Meyler&Evans to pick up the ball and carry it forward himself.
The beauty of football! Everyone sees it differently! On another note today was by far Stephen quinns worst performance since he has been here. Very disappointing as I expected him to be massively up for today given his Sheff Utd connections
Brady went forward with intent today, unlike his team mates who couldn't trap a football. Unfortunately, he seemed to have about 3 people marking him whenever he tried to get behind the defence. Only really voted for Chester because of those sexual switches he kept on doing perfectly
1. Brady 2. Aluko 3. Proschwitz Don't get the Brady criticism bar the corners which weren't great. He made some good tackles, he beat his man every time, and put some class bals in when he did, and he didn't ge this usual help from Quinn. Looks a class act. Aluko made some good runs and put a brilliant ball through for Koren, but he really needs a proper striker alongside him. Looked good coming from deep. Prossy held the ball up brilliantly for our goal, was something that went un noticed by most, but without it we wouldn't of scored.
Koren Oxley McShane Jak-**** Elmo-poor Chester-worst ever game I think, I counted at least 15 given away passes Faye-lucky and at times poor Hobbs-decent Brady-decent Evans-was he on the pitch? Meyler-shocking Quinn-lazy, uninterested Koren-as above, good finish Aluko-no support Proschwitz-held up well Ox-did nothing wrong Simpson-why is he here? Rant over.
For me, Brady looked like the Brady of last season rather than what we've seen of him this season. Don't know about beating his man every time, saw him lose it regularly. He drove forward a couple of times which was pleasing, but never picked the right time to pass the ball, another similarity to last season, greedy. There was also a time when their right winger knocked it past him and Brady just stopped, instead of going after him or at least trying to get back in a useful position. I'm willing to let him off as he's been very impressive this season (the same goes for the other 9) but hopefully today was a one off for most. It seems all too easy to do what Peterbrough, Burnley and now Sheff Wednesday have done to us. Park the bus, hassle us, don't let us move the ball nicely and try and score off a counter (usually from one of our corners). It really is stupid, for the last 2 seasons Rosey would stay back and did a good job of preventing counter attacks from corners. This year Evans always stands on the half-way, sometimes someone else joins him, Chester on occasions, when the opposition counter all they have to do is knock it past Evans. By that time there tends to be 2 of them through on goal. Only in the 80+ minute did we put Brady on the half way, someone who could keep up with counter attacks. I wouldn't mind so much but Brady's corners were dire today. It's an odd position to be in when you're annoyed that you've won a corner and see it as the oppositions best chance to score.
1. Koren - he scored and should have had 2 penalties 2. Mark Oxley - for actually looking bothered. 3. Steve Bruce - Manager should get it for quite frankly giving a totally honest interview, saying we were just god awful. Move on, the Jak was awful. Their 2nd (should have been 3rd) was a clear goal; Jakupovic dropped the ball and then got clanged as their number 3 celebrated. Get Vito Mannone back, he's just benchwarming at Arsenal. Night all
Personally i never saw Brady lose the ball at all, i saw him constantly taking on three players by himself, don't see what he was expected to do against them, but he still beat them. I don't get Koren votes, he missed a one on one. Fair play he's not a striker but thats two games he has missed great chances. I don't think Chester was as bad as people say, Faye lost nearly every header but he doesn't get the same criticism mainly as Chester has higher standards.
Chester Koren Aluko None really deserved it but anyway! I hope Elmo was injured first half, because he made no effort at all to get down the line or to get back. We really were terrible!
1. Brady - for effort , he was heavily marked 2. Elmo - superb cross for goal and positive attacking impact 3. Proschwitz - should have come on much earlier , great control led to our goal , holds up the ball well ( only on a few minutes so thats how bad the rest were ) Koren didn't play well but scored , people always vote for the goalscorer Chester had a shocker by his standards Quinn didn't play well but calling him lazy is wrong Meyler didn't show anything today Evans was anonymous Jak - No thanks proper keeper needed Bad day at the office but only 1 game no need to panic girls
