It was awful, but... I maintain Stoke v Norwich in high winds at the Britannia last season was much, yes much, worse. The winds made it impossible to accurately long ball or throw and our players couldn't pass on the ground. Te game went something like: punt, clearance, throw, punt, header, header, header, punt, clearance, throw etc. Admittedly there was a goal, but it was scored when the whole Norwich team stood still after a throw in was wrongly given to Stoke and Etherington ran round stationary players.
Gotta feel for anyone who might not get to carrow road often today. Think tickets were £47 for that dross
Ouch. I did have an offer to go on someone's season ticket, and was gutted when I realised I was back at uni before today. Now I'm glad I stayed in the warm and got some work done!
For once, I don't anyone will quibble with the running order on MOTD. Best part of the afternoon was realising that Newcastle are reliably worse than we are. Also Holty showed his quality when he came on. It was just one of those games. We were the better team; but our quality for the final, or second from last, pass or move just wasn't there. In fact we were poor in the very areas that we have excelled at in other games; crossing and set pieces. But it was a clean sheet for Bunn, and Turner's game was faultless; definitely my MOTM. Holt has got thirty minutes under his belt, and will, we hope, be ready to start at Anfield.
Geoff Stelling only went over to Phil Thompson once in the second half and he looked absolutely bored stiff!
Steady JWM you only achieved a 0-0 in the CCC It was an awful game though hopefully not see the like of it again for a while
Not everyone in the "famous" blue and white would agree with you, Warky http://www1.skysports.com/football/...-left-Ipswich-Town-after-rejecting-a-new-deal
At least Phil Thompson was in a warm studio and not freezing his choggles off watching what was in simple terms the worst game of football (if it can be called that) I have ever seen.
It was bad, but I saw far worse in the days of Grant and Roeder. Today just felt so bad because we have become used to quality.
Wasn't the greatest game, but I'm glad we stopped the rot and didn't lose again and got another point closer to safety.
