Each week, performance seems to be worse than the previous. This season has been over for a while now. Ideal opportunity to prepare for next season. New manager needed ASAP, give him time to put together a shopping list and decide how much of the ****e he wants to get rid of. As usual though, might as well get rid of virtually them all. They're not good enough and not interested either.

Kenny, Ashdown, Byram, Tonge, Green, Diouf, Austin, Becchio and McCormack can stay. Everyone else can leave tbh.

Agreed, but where is it going wrong?

Don't think Austin is the player we thought he was...
    Pearce is not good enough
Peltier is not good enough at left back
    Our midfield is non existant

At this moment I've no confidence in gfh as they've said they know nothing about running a football club and I've no confidence in Warnick who seems to have forgotten anything he ever knew. How many times in recent years have we said its time to start from scratch yet again but no one seems to have a clue what they're at. What's likely crowd at next home match I wonder?

Sat at services after going, flipping depressed at this nonsense going on at our club. The truth is GFH need to put in serious dough and get four quality players in now. Not holding my breath though.

Not sure I agree with all th earache directed at Peltier. If Warnock plays him where he's supposed to at RB, I think he'll deliver. Play Drury or White at LB. Play Byram at RM. Perm 2 from plenty in CM. Play Diouf at LM with a roving role. Play Becchio & McCormack up front. Quite where the new lad & Hall fit in, I don't quite know. But let's start off with the basics - players playing where they;re supposed to

Problem could be keeping the good players and getting rid of the dross. The vultures will aready be circling over Byram and Becchio.

Peltier isn't even a left back. Adam Drury is though.

And our midfield consisted of 4 central midfielders for **** sake.

I'm not quite in the Warnock out camp yet, but I do have to question his team selection lately. Barkley the only one to come out of today with any credit.

These players are capable of more, warnock has them playing this way and clearly has them focused on the wrong things in training. He's bringing in defenders and centre mids when we're crying out for width. The warnock out shouting was entirely deserved

Apart from Ashdown all those featured today, Barkley sounded like he was the only threat on the pitch, the whole team is woeful.

In fairness we did start from scratch, well virtually, this is the team Warnock built and I am regretting the day I celebrated him joining us.

Yeah but to be fair, if we had two proper centre halves, a left back, two wingers and a creative midfielder, along with the players I mentioned, that could be a half decent team. At the moment, we have those players and then we're filling the rest of the space up with what we can, not what we need.

Enough of Warnock now - Watch him sell Bechhio to fund more useless ****. No mate Green might look okay but the team on the pitch in recent weeks is useless, we don't need Green, Tonge or Diouf any longer, Austin has lost it Warnock has built a team and failed and now he has nowhere to hide. We can't blame Bates any longer, he was given funds and he signed Tonge, Barkley, Tate and Hall and we still can't beat bottom basement team who had not won at home in the league for 11 matches, Sept 1st

In my opinion. The players are good enough. We do have quality. But they don't play as a team.

Whether that is because of selection and positinoing, or it's because Warnock or GFH has pissed off everyone at the club, I don't know.

GK: Kenny and Ashdown are quality.
RB: Peltier, Byram or Lees - all good enough, and all young, they can grow with the club and as long as we keep them (depsite my dislike of Lees) we can build.

LB: Drury or White - prefer White and keep him playing there so he can develop in that position. He is young and can be one of those developing the whole team over time.

CB: Pearce, Tate, Peltier, Lees - perm any two, and they should be good enough.

CM: Austin - funny how we have played our worst games with him on the pitch
Brown - seems to be feeling his age now
    Norris - Doesn't add much
Green - not shown the same promise that he did in the first half hour of the first game before he got injured
Tonge - was excellent previously, and hope he continues
    Varney - been shocking
Nunez - why was he given a 4 year contract?

But we can't play four of them!

Wider midfielders: Diouf - slows play down too much but is skilful - but we need pace
Hall - apparently has promise. If he does, he can develop alongside the other youngsters, as long as we get them playing togetehr and in a certain way
Barkley - only here for a month and if performances don't improve he will leave

Forwards - Poleon - what has happened to the kid? But if he is the future start playing him
Becchio - can only play when he has good wide players backing him up and laying things on through crosses, as long as others are getting in the box too
McCormack - not surprised he is pissed off, he showed what he could do after Grayson had been leaving him out and then brought him back. Class player who has been left to get more and more unhappy at the club.
Somma - seems to have really come back, but again isn't being played

What we have is a mish-mash of players, most of whom arecapable of doing a job and should be fast enough, strong enough, and intelligent enough to play togetehr as a team.

Which all suggests Warnock is not the man, and never was. Am surprised he is still there.

Neutrals might point out if you sign 5 players from teams relegated out of this division last season why should you expect to be anything other than an average team.

To be fair, Portsmouth went down due to points deductions and off the field problems more than the player's lack of ability. However I do see your point, and the only decent one we signed was Ashdown as a number 2 anyway.

This is pretty much spot on http://www.thescratchingshed.com/2013/01/time-to-go-for-neil-warnock.

I just wish Warnock would do the decent thing and resign. He's had 18 months to get things right and the team has got progressively worse. As the article points out, we've got a fairly decent team now but it doesn't matter when they play Warnock's dinosaur-era hoofball.

The trouble is, if we got rid of him now, who would take over. I doubt that Poyet would want to leave mid-season. How about Sean O'Driscoll as a caretaker until the summer? At the very least he knows how to play good football.
