Thank god villa were shocking infront of goal and boruc was class. Could have easily lost the match. 15th place baby!

I agree with you that we werent great at the end and the subs definantly didnt help. But I think you should be very very happy with these points. If we can find the skill of not playing badly and still picking up 3 points then there is absolutely no way we will go down this season. For me this is most important 3 points of the season so far

He seemed to be limping when he went off, hope that's nothing serious. As for Shaw, I hope he was just going along with it all to reduce the controversy factor...

Just seen that Lambert is 5th in the 'distance travelled' stats, after Delph, Schneiderlin, Lowton and Cork! Think they must have counted all the distance he covered running over to have a word with the ref <laugh>

Don't give a toss about man of the match, means nothing. 3 points is the ONLY fact from this horrible game today.

Completely disagree with this, I can completely see the subs. Gaston was not tracking back and a lot of play was coming down their right, so Fox for Ramirez is logical enough, and it did snuff out the crosses coming in from their right. Puncheon seemed to take a knock to me, there was one point where he was nowhere to be seen and Rodriguez had to cover and he limped back into picture a few moments later, so I can see why that substitution happened as well, and the last one is self explanatory. The reason why we looked shaky at the end is because a team desperate for points with a home crowd roaring them on were pumping balls into their huge striker, nothing to do with substitutions.

Probably from that tackle by Lowton, if you can call it a tackle.

So chuffed for Jos today as well.

That feels like the Leeds away game last year!

I do pretty much agree with that. I've relieved, as opposed to excited or happy, with that win.

We had Fox, De Ridder and Jos all on the field at the end there. We failed to score from open play against the worst defence in the league. They had over twice as many shots on target as we did, and sounded like they battered us in the second half.

But hey, you don't need to brilliant to avoid relegation. You just need to be the fourth worst team. These three points will help us no end.

We have played well in games and got nothing or one point...so we deserve these 3 points. Remember other teams also get points they don't deserve.

hearing some conversations outside the ground, apparently someone has had word of an imminent signing. More than one person saying it too.

That's unfair to us and Villa. Whatever you think about how their back line has matched up to others over the course of the season so far, they defended well today.

3 points away from home, in a game we couldn't afford to lose. How can that be anything but ****ing brilliant? Don't care how awful Villa were, or how often we gave the ball away, we got the points. My weekend would have been in tatters if we'd conceded at the end there.

I only watched the second half, from what i heard we were well on top first half. Arther Boruc was outstanding second half and a mention for J Rod too, ran his socks off and Lambert too his vision is class. Massive 3 points. Its never easy with saints is it?. We still got to learn how to see out games. How we didn't concede I still don't know. The only way is up now!

I'm sure Adkins odds for the sack will increase a lot now too. Only one NIGEL ADKINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
