Good point for us. Much better than the performance earlier in the season. We are becoming a really hard team to break down under ML. Still too light in midfield though.

All things considered a good point away from home against a good team. Playing with 9 men is tough. Dyer was abissmal, Pablo couldn't make a pass or win anything and Agustien was largely ineffective.

Chico and Ash - both were immense. Chico for Spain.

Back to back games like this leaves no time for real drilling and practice. If you think this is tough wait until the end of January.

hmmm not sure whatto think of that one, good defending but poor passing so we created little.

The tactics change with the opponents, we were up against a real physical team , so laudrup put on Augustin and Tiendalli to counter this. It's a sign of things to come I think, we will play pretty but will play like a Sousa team when it warrants it. A tough point away from home and break through the 30 point barrier.

Better result, but that's because we decided to just defend and forget about attacks. Just feel it was a really negative performance and seemed resigned to the fact that we aren't capable of winning this game.

Yes but I notice that he plays a lot of good balls into space and we have no one who reads them. Our movement when we have the ball isn't always the best. We often receive the ball static and I think Pablo plays the ball into areas that we should be running into at pace. We don't do that as often as we should because it unlocks defences.

Anyway, I'll settle for a point well earned today, so well done the lads.

    Plenty of pluses from today.

    Ki back to his best.

    Defence rock solid.

Davies improved after a shaky start.

Vorm very good in the air.

We're no longer a pushover for any team.

Well we came away with a point, the game plan was for a draw I think, is that negative ? Probably, is that the best tactics against a team that has our number, I think yes. Every point gained is a point to safety. I would like 40 points before we get into any final if we are to get there

Srereo, bear in mind we had a tough game against Chelsea and Everton had 48 hours more energy in their legs. This week we've got Arsenal again, then a league fixture, then Chelsea again. It's pouring tough fixtures right now.

We need to get to 40 points when perhaps the pressure will ease a lot and we can play with less fear and more freedom. Meantime, every point counts and today's point against a good Everton side who are pushing for a European spot, was excellent in my book.

Our defence was fantastic, Ash and Chico are developing into a great defensive partnership.

it wasn't the most exciting game, but i'm also happy with a point. stand out performances from chico and ash. most disappointed by agustien, at least dyer can say he was out of position, but agustien was in his position and was there to combat the physicality of everton and lost out or gave the ball away too many times. i thought the tiendelli rangel pairing worked well.

As I said in my OP a point for us would be real progress. Delighted with that <ok>.

Over to Jager now to do a comprehensive thread for the Arsenal match.

Agree Ivor. A well grafted and disciplined point. Some players were terrific, while others need to look in the mirror.
