.... and it would seem their fans may turn. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/football/premier_league/10158004.Saints_can_spark_more_abuse_for_Benitez/ Villa first though, eh?
Aston Villa today is the really big game - Wednesday will be a shot to nothing ---- off at 11am to Villa Park - MASSIVE game for Saints and perhaps Adkins too.....
We need Rickie to do as Beattie did at Chelsea on New Years Day 2002. Going 1-0 up with a superb free kick after 7 mins and then winning 4-2!
Didn't really work out last time we took the lead against Chelsea, did it? Let's beat Villa today then we can concentrate on protecting our goal difference on Weds.
so did Swansea, so we do have a chance I suppose. But that QPR game was a freak result for a couple of reasons. 1st off, it was a West London derby, and we all know that odd things happen in derbies. And then Benitez, perhaps failing to grasp that 1st thing, seriously underestimated his opponents and left several key players on the bench until it was too late.
Just trying to be positive and I am going to the game. Yes we did score first against Chelsea at home in the fa cup and not with our full strength team. If we score first against them at their place then the crowd will be on their backs (as Villa fans will also be when we score). Similarly if we can hold them for the first half hour they will start getting twitchy and let's face it, they will be on Benitez's back even before kick off. It has been reported today that a number of fans are even boycotting all games until Benitez leaves. COYY.
Chelsea fans must be happy with the result today. I had a feeling Stoke would have got a sneaky 1-0 win.
It's fair to say that Chelsea are finding it harder to play at The Bridge than away at the moment, there is no reason why we can't emulate QPR and Swansea, especially if we can prevent them from scoring early, or if we score first.
