Aye.

I'm no interested in moving to England I'm more inclined to some sort of european league but that is unlikely. Talk of leaving Scotland over these plans is just naive.

Hopefully something can be sorted out that benefits all the clubs but I do think the current setup of 12 teams is just boring as ****. I'd have much more interest if there was 16 or 18 teams.

Although I like the idea of a European league it would cost a ****in bomb flying all over Europe every other week and would end up little away support each match.

I think the current format of 12 team SPL is boring as well, playing the same team 4 times. Then if you meet them in the cups it could go up to 6 times.

Most fans opinions I have heard is expand the top flight and reduce the number of league games, then do something different with the league cup / Scottish Cup to get each team more home games.

Heard this format was introduced in Austria a few years back and fell flat on it's face there.

Think it's about time Doncaster, Reagan etc listened to what the fans want.

2 regional leagues of 12 beneath an 18 team premier

Regional Champs promoted

Relegated clubs worked into regional leagues with a bit of swapping around regions if necessary

Maybe even playoffs for a 3rd promotion spot between regions runner ups

The sooner we are back in the same league as them the better. No old firms is ****e :(

We would love the chase, unfortunately I cannot see your lot making the SPL for at least
ten years. There are many pit falls including financial problems to be faced before there
Is any chance of your lot reaching the elite.

Below is the 18 team top league from 1974-75, the last season before the top 10 teams broke away to form the premier league.

Not exactly mouth-watering, is it?

Look at it though...the top half of the table won almost half of all their games while last season for example it was only the top 3 who were close to winning 50%+

That's a bit optimistic all Rangers fans firmly believe it will take 20 years to reach the top league

Seriously? From an outsider's piont of view the whole thing does seem pretty vindictive. Yes Rangers broke the rules but I would have thought in any reasonable person's eyes a 3 division demotion is more than enough punishment. The restructure now seems designed to deliberately **** them over yet again. Can you imagine the same thing happening to liverpool, Manchester united or Arsenal down here? Nah - me neither....

They didn't get demoted, Dan <doh>

You're posing that question to Medro? <laugh>

George Cowley , surely you cannot be serious showing a football table from the mid
Seventies. Surely one of those teams is dead and gone for committing serious
Financial misconduct .

Whit fir? Naebody wants them

CHARLES GREEN has been told he’s taking Rangers NOWHERE.

The Ibrox chief had claimed that Gers were ready to walk away in protest at the 12-12-18 reconstruction plans.

But they would require a seal of approval from UEFA, as well as the backing of the SFA and the association they intended to join. And that’s not going to happen after the English Premier League said they’d block the plan.

Gers would have had to serve a two-year notice period prior to leaving the game here as part of their membership of the SFL and SFA.

A UEFA spokesperson told SunSport: “This is a matter for the Scottish domestic bodies — and other possibly concerned domestic bodies — to consider first of all.

“UEFA Article 51 (1) dictates that no combinations or alliances between UEFA member associations or between leagues or clubs affiliated to different UEFA member associations may be formed without the permission of UEFA.”

Reports down south yesterday revealed the Premier League won’t allow Gers to join them. West Brom’s Scottish boss Steve Clarke is also convinced he won’t be facing them soon.

Clarke said: “I don’t think it can happen. I don’t see it is feasible for Rangers to leave Scottish football.”

Former SFA chief executive and one-time Gers director of football Gordon Smith also reckons there’s no chance.

He said: “If this motion is voted through Rangers will have to accept it or they will have nowhere to go.

“Rangers have every right to explore every option.

“But I don’t think it’s best to do that as a reaction to these proposals. You’d have to ask yourself how Rangers could leave Scottish football.

“There may be talk over some kind of European Super League but it will not be happening soon. If Rangers want to continue playing football they will have to abide by the decision taken when the matter is put to vote.”

Smith insists the proposed revamp wouldn’t hit Gers in the way Green has claimed saying: “If Rangers win the Third Division title they’ll be promoted to the third level.

“If the proposals are voted through Rangers would be going into the third level just as they would if the system stayed as we are.

“Rangers would still play the same teams from the Third Division but also from the current Second Division. So there is no way this can be seen as another obstacle to Rangers getting back to the top level.”
