If we "give back" the Falklands, can we keep him?

Nasty rumor doing the rounds is that Colo has been playing away from home and has got some lass pregnant. Mrs Colo has taken the kids and gone back to Argentina.
The problem with a lack of information is that stories will emerge to fill the gaps. I seriously hope that...
    1. Colo does not want to leave
    2. He has not risked his marriage as suggested, but we all know the temptations that footballers face, even the really ugly ones have gorgeous girlfriends and no shortage of takers should they fancy a trade in.
    3. If true, he does the decent thing and agrees to stay until we are sorted, whatever that means.

Just had a thought, normally in a working environment if a member of staff needs time away from work to deal with a personal issue, they might request a period of compassionate leave.
If Colo indeed needs to fly out to Argentina to deal with a Personal Crisis, could he not go on Sunday for the week? And see how things pan out. Then if necessary go back out again, or request a period of extended time ?
All l am trying to fathom is, does he really need to go permanently and why does he need to sign for another club. Surely there are other options and ways forward to explore, before being so final ?
I am sure we would prefer to lose him for a while, whilst he tries to sort things out, than see him go and not come back.
I guess if the reason he wants out is that he has had enough of the shambles we have become, and feels the club has no ambition other than pootling along mid table, then he will go and nothing will stop him from going.
But if his marriage is at the root of this, then surely there are other options he and the club can explore.

I suppose it would make sense if he had been sampling some of the finest Geordie crumpet, that his wife would not be too impressed with him sticking around at Newcastle.

Seeing as I've mentioned the rumour and will be going to Twitter-hell or prison now, I might as well make up what I think could have happened...

One day, a policeman was walking the beat down Northumberland street and came across an unusually hair-styled man, who was sitting on the pavement outside the chronicle shop and appeared in great distress... "Young man", he said, "There's no need to feel down". The unusually hair-styled man appeared not to notice, so he urged "I said young man, pick yourself off the ground"... Once again, he seemed to be invisible to this chap, so he continued, now deeply concerned for the man's mental welfare "young man, just 'cause you're in a new toon there's no need to feel unhappy"... The unsually hair-styled gentleman wiped his eyes and looked up, into the beaming bright, gay even, face of the policeman, who offered him some further words of comfort and direction... "Young man, there's a place you can go", he started, but noticing the shiny jewels on his shoes and the artistry of his bountiful locks, altered his next sentence to "I said, young man, when you've made loads of dough. You can stay there, and I'm sure you will find many ways to have a good time"... At this the unusually hair-styled gentleman stood up and stopped sobbing, listening intently as if this policeman was someone to look up to, almost like a bicurious popstar. The policeman embellished on his point and repeated "It's fun to stay nearby San Lor-en-zo". The unusually hair-styled man was inspired and boogied on down to his agent to discuss his options... FACT

I know I should have stopped a lot sooner than I did, by the way.

All sorts of rumours now flying around.

    - He supposedly has a room permanently booked at a hotel in Jesmond under an alias and is a regular visitor with a lady in tow, been caught out.
    - He has knocked up some local slapper and his wife has fooked off
    - His wife has never been happy and has given him an ultimatum to follow him home

Who knows what the truth is as this ****e always starts when there is even a smidgeon of smoke. My personal favourite is on the Mackem board - Pizzagate. This involves a mackems NUFC supporting brother being good mates with Steven Taylor and being told that on a recent journey home from an away match, there was a serious incident involving pizza. The players regularly get a large order of pizzas on the way home from every away match and after a recent defeat Pardew stormed on the bus punching holes in pizza boxes and throwing around with one catching Colo or Santon near the eye!! <laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh> I don't care whether it is Steven winding his brother up, his brother winding him up, or simply him having a go at winding us up, that is fabulously in depth and entertaining story!!

The imagery of Pardew storming the bus and punching holes in pizza boxes is fantastic and regardless of its roots, this jackanory gets 5 stars from me.

We would have to hold our hands up if it is true as we all invited him to 'S**g our wives'. The poor sod probably thought it was a local custom or something..

Ahem, l think you will find that, GlitF, LTF, Lady E, Mrs Magpie and DT are all innocent of this charge and cannot be held accountable for Mr Colo's extra ciricula activities.

If this is true (and I fear that it quite probably is) then I think for him to have requested to leave in this window rather than saying he will leave at the end of the season means that whatever the issue is, it's significant.

I credit Colo with a lot of our success last season for his role as Captain and leader of the team, solid at the back in terms of play and team management. But I also think part of our current predicament is down to him too. I think we would have taken some points against West Ham, Swansea and Southampton had he been in the team, but he wasn't because of that red card against Liverpool that can not be blamed on poor refereeing but poor judgement on Colo's part (in my opinion). When he is on top of his game he is immense, but he has not been at the top of his game this season (although of course the success or otherwise of the team's league position isn't down to one player).

If he leaves then I don't bear any hard feelings. He has been everything to this Club that I think a player should be. It feels like it is a need to go and in which case it is perhaps better that it happens, although it is spectacularly bad timing. However unless strong replacements and back up are here in training by the end of January then I think it could well be season over for us.

And it is at this juncture that I would like to say that I have over these past few months been in the Pardew Faithful Camp. However, there is something about the statement that the players won't/don't talk to him (whether that is really to do with flying pizza or something else) that somehow feels right to me and I now have my big toe in the Pardew Out Camp ...

Something very wrong at the moment and I think that Colo is more important to the team than Pardew.

See if any other club will take him on and pay him what he gets here.

I think Colo is a cheeky bugger. With three years remaining on his contract, how he can expect NUFC to let him leave mid season for what peanuts, he (And his dad) are having a laugh. Sounds to me like someone wants a easy way out with all the dosh. As he was signed for £10M, I'd tell him to shut up & put up unless a good offer comes in.
Bloody pampered twits want it all their own way, don't they.

You know.. instinct can be a powerful thing and mine is honestly telling me that Pardew (off the pitch) is a big part of the problem.
I cannot be more specific than that but I just hope all parties start to put the fans first as we're the ones who matter.

I think most of us are picking it up like that. It'll no doubt all come out before too long. I'd rather see Pardew resign for the good of the club than see our name dragged through the mud because of him.
