I wish he would stop going on about Van Persie, can't he talk about another club's striker for a change, its like he's bitter about missing out on him and keeps talking about him.
It's not like he's bitter about missing out on him, he IS bitter about it. I think he's trying to make a point to the cheque signers to back him in the transfer market all the time because he feels that they wern't willing to offer as much as we did. The truth is Robin chose United because he wanted to play here.
Its a wonder he didn't choose Liverpool then. They are the definition of History. United are the present and the future.
I would give Mancini credit by saying he keeps saying this to inspire his own strikers into action but then he is bellend who doesn't deserve that credit. Yeah, he's just whining and getting his excuse in nice and early. When he ****s up it'll be because the owners never got him van Persie.
Exactly, chief if you have the chance, watch ssn now and see if his interview is there, he talks about him for a few minutes.
This is what I was going to say.. I also think part of it is backhanded pressure mind games if you will..
This. To be fair to Mancini he did do pretty well with the psych stuff last season and held up well under the pressure. Tho' he did have the benefit of a superior squad with almost no injuries last season - now we've overtaken them in the quality department it'll be interesting to see if he can cope with the long chase for a second season in a row.
Mancini feels he was badly let down by marwood and i feel a lot of his comments are a dig in that direction.Im led to believe that Sinclair was bought by marwood rather than mancini which may explain his reticence to play him.It will be interesting to see how this transfer window plays out as if he's not given the green light to bring in the stellar name he's after I feel his days are very much numbered. As for Van Persie,as much as as I would've loved to see him banging them in wearing a city shirt, the abiding memory would always been that he's just here for the money and only the money. At the moment choosing City over Utd could only be for that reason for the likes of RVP and its only to his credit that he's chosen personal ambition over fortune. Understandable as the days were of drafting in the mercenaries like Adebeyor to propel us to the Champions League places,it's not a way to recruit the top players to the club in the long term but it will be a long while before a player chooses us over Utd for ambition over money. It's to the great shame of the arsenal hierarchy that Van Persie has shown the level of ambition that's sadly lacking at the Emirates and I find the sheer hypocrisy from arsenal disgusting when they are free with opinions slagging off City & Chelsea's owners for putting their own money into their respective clubs rather than turn a club into a corporate country club for chinless ruperts from the Surrey suburbs. How they have deceived the former family clubs supporters with the move from Highbury to the emirates with promises of challenging for every honour known to man when the opposite has been the case and how any business can freely sell their main assets to their main rivals is a ludicrous way to behave whether its for business or sporting reasons Hopefully one day City will be able to recruit the top players without a financial carrot involved. Its not in the immediate future but at least it's a possibility rather than the pipedream it would've been less than a decade ago
I imagine the media games are much less here than what they're like in Italy... He's just being political.
On Mancini, i'm sure he was whinging about not getting Van Persie before we did, he kept moaning to the press about Marwood in regards to transfers. On Van persie, He's been class for us this season, he's scored important goals for us and he's one of the reasons why we're top of the league at the minute, if he can keep up this form going until the end of the season, then he'll win the player of the year award.
