Hi All, I don't post often but I've just been looking at the training photos on the OS. I think there are a lot of positives there as well as some interesting shots ... - Everyone looks naturally chirpy and happy (especially the likes of Gaston, Rickie and Nige himself!) - Good to see Clyne and Lallana being involved - road to recovery - Interesting to see the last shot of Nige speaking with Martin and Seabourne - glad to see that they're straight back in the fold after their loan spells, we may need them! With all the speculation around Nige, Gaston and the squad in general it looks like the club has used this as a timely reminder that the squad is united and working together. Harv
Good photos. I remember a player saying a while ago that footballers do not always like training, especially the fitness stuff, but at Saints they use a variety of activities so that boredom doesn't set in. I like the sixth shot of Ramirez...he somehow doesn't look like a footballer, he looks like a random person who sees a kids ball in the park and thinks he will try and kick it...arms look all girlie. I think the positivity of Adkins and the team could be an important weapon in our armoury. Being negative when things go wrong never helped anyone...could make a difference.
Lallana i'm still hearing end of Feb, still in pain when doing certain things but not as much as The Echo make out. Still nice to see him back training with the first team even if it is very light training..
Let's face it, they look a lot happier than the recent photos of the Man City lot! Looking at those photos just brings home how lucky this lot are to basically hang out with their mates and boot a football around for a living! (Disclaimer: I realise hard work is also necessary!)
Yeah, & how amazing would it be to be paid to keep in shape. Thats the incentive I need on these cold mornings.
Seems to be a new signing hanging with JRod, anyone recognise him? He also seems to be carrying a rather savage neck injury. Hope we are looking after our players and not making them play through injuries. Thought Adkins used to be a physio FFS. Not sure why the photo has come up so small...but if you click on it you can clearly see the horrific neck injury (one of Rickie's free kicks?)
Boruc has his Saints scarf printed with red text: "BORUC 31" - with a little Poland flag on there too for good measure.
Those smiles are a good sign. In training photos under WGS everyone always seemed to be smiling, and he pushed them really hard to reach peak fitness. Hopefully Nige and his coaching staff are achieving the same results, in which case we should start scoring some vital goals in the last 5 minutes of games.
