My postcode show ££££ as No1 and UTD 7th with Liverpool

I have never seen a ££££ fan where I live, lots of UTD and Pools fans as both have a coach that goes to matches pull up near me to collect fans.

You mean the 659 million fans in the Kantar survey and the 75 million fans from the Deloitte one? IIRC those were random samples of the populations of a sample of countries round the world - I think the Kantar one surveyed around 50,000 people around the world, Deloitte probably did less. The Kantar one asked do you support Utd and follow their results, the Deloitte one asked have you spent any money on watching or supporting Utd.

All surveys like this are ultimately estimates backed by varying qualities of evidence, but a decent probability sample is a heck of a lot more scientific than counting posts on Twitter! The same researchers would probably look at this forum and conclude that Newcastle and Sunderland are the largest clubs in the UK...

Exactly, putting actual figures on something so diverse can only be estimated.

I'm not on twitter myself but a lot of good comes from it as well. Look how quickly petitions re. Hillsborough got signed up and how that turned out. Without the online ability to do that we'd still be waiting now ........

Just wait till the Glazers can 'monetise' that bloke. This time next year, he'll be threatening the surveyor with a Utd branded knife, and his cow will look like a tablecloth. It's the dream <ok>

I think the people complaining about twitter are generally of a mindset or generation scared of modernisation.

It's very easy, entertaining and an important tool of direct democracy.
