I dare we'll find out more against Norwich. The Independant etc are only reporting something that has been going on a while and there is no official line about any request so I think you have to take it with a pinch of salt at this stage. His performances and general demeanour does suggest something is amiss I have to say.

I'd hope he'd do the decent thing and remain if we cannot find suitable replacements. We are already in dire need of one centre back and this should not be simply hoping Saylor stays fit! If Colo goes we'll need to find two centre backs ideally. I suppose Ashleys argument to Pards would be that he was persuaded to pay Steven Taylor first choice money in his last contract negotiation? I think Colo has to respect the money the club have paid him (new contract recently) and regardless of any personal matters, needs to see out at least the next 6 months. If it is that his wife/family is unhappy then he should allow them to return home and remain until the summer when something can be arranged. However I don't see why we should lose out here and it will be a case of San Lorenzo coming up with a deal that suits us. That is the nature of contracts unfortunately for Colo.

I'm sure many will I'm being harsh but its the same for me in my workplace and being blunt, that is the real world. Of course there is little to be gained from keeping unhappy players but we are in a unique scenario at present where he is the only centre back of sufficient quality regularly available to us. Obviously if true, come the summer its likely we'd have to find a way round the figures.

Hard to know what to think because these reports don't seem to provide any comment from club or player and therefore carry no more weight than the previous reports

 

Rumour on twitter that his wife and kids have moved back to Argentina. And as we all know random people on twitter are almost as credible as Wikipedia.

I'll be gutted if he goes, one of the best defenders in the league IMO. I have a lot of time for Newcastle and honestly believe that your starting XI is one of the best in the league. Injuries have been your problem all season and do highlight the fact that the squad is thin. I hope the fat lad digs deep and you get some cover in. Colo will be hard to replace, I agree with ACS, you will need at least 2 CB’s now.

If Colo goes and we don't sign an adequate replacement we are royally ****ed. We probably need two because Taylor's injury could play up again and then we would be totally screwed.

I Love Colo, I really do, couldn't he just grin and bear it for another four months, fight and keep us up then leave in the summer? Is that really too much to ****ing ask?

Colo leaving in the summer would be best for the team, but we dont know the whole story of why he want's to leave, only rumour's.
