THE CLUB can confirm Steve Cotterill has agreed a short-term deal to assist Harry Redknapp and his backroom team at QPR.

Forty-eight year-old Cotterill - who left his last managerial position at Nottingham Forest in the summer - will work alongside Redknapp, Assistant Manager Kevin Bond and First Team Coach Joe Jordan.

You really would have to wonder why such a large set up is necessary. What do all these guys actually do?

I honestly think that there could be something in that. If we do go down I can't see HR managing in the Championship, he's sure to get other Premiership offers. Cotterill could well be our plan B.

I was thinking exactly the same thing - a few months on the job experience, then successor to A'rry if we are relegated. If we stay up, 'Arry stays put.
