If that's what the silly ****er genuinely thinks then if/when we agree a fee with Swansea he will politely say "thanks Sunderland for showing an interest but no thanks" (or wordstothat effect). No problem at all and we move on to the next target. PS. Deep down ALL fans would say what he said just with him being in the public eye just makes him look like a Clarke, a Chopra or (in other words) a twat. PPS. If he did come and had a genuine chance to score against the Mags. He'd better ****ing well take the ****er.
Totally fitting, if you want to waste your money on ****s like that twat it's entirely up to you marra. He will never have my support.
Why keep this issue up. Bruce lost his way - managers do. Chopra lost his bottle - players do. Clark had a tee shirt draped over him by some NUFC supporters - I believe it when he said it was thrust onto him without him reading it. It was blown out of proportion and gobbled up by media hungry supporters. Trust MON in his horse-trading for players; he couldn't get Graham in July and is straight back in for him in January so he must rate Graham. Long conversations have taken place no doubt where any conflict of loyalties would have been thrashed out. In my day I had no problem with Shackleton, Stokoe, Guthrie and Moncur. We even once bid 30k for Jackie Milburn who was willing to come to us but the move was blocked by the NUFC board.
My son is as red and white as it comes and loves Sunderland - hates Newcastle much in a way of Graham in this interview (as do I) but if he was offered a contract with them (he's a decent young keeper - only 8 years old but still is learning to read the game well and looks like he is going to be a decent player) then it wouldn't phase me one bit. Money talks - he doesn't have to support us, he just has to play well for us (if he signs) - He's certainly not my first choice but he is proven and scores goals in the premier league - he'd be a squad player IMO - I can't see him being a first choice as he is too similar (but nowhere near as good as) Fletcher
I didn't want him because I don't actually think he's a player who will improve us and was dubious about the allegiance to the scum. I thought Sunderland are better off just not even going there for that reason. However after reading that article I definitely do not want this black and white ****er representing our club. I sincerely hope we give him his wish to stay far away from Sunderland ie in Swansea
You'll need more cash than that to buy Austin mate, Rhodes set Blackburn back about £8m if I remember correctly and Austin's twice the striker he is.
Will people really react like this if he signs? He is a Newcastle supporter - a proper, die hard, black and white - would one of the lads on here (ACS/Warm Pouch etc) not have said the same in an interview - as I said - if he plays for us I will not boo him - he was open and honest about his allegiances in an interview and for that I would actually applaud him - I would hope that a red and white would do the same - I certainly would say that about them up the road - why does it bother people so much that he said he would support "Anyone but Sunderland" if he is a black and white then why does that bother you?? I would expect nothing else TBH - if he plays for us and scores for us will people refuse to celebrate??
Hi mate, I think you're slightly missing the point in that its the anti Sunderland comment that is annoying people
Just to pick up on what somebody said about Lee Clark, I have a mag mate who was there that day and he has always admitted that Clark was set up that day and it wasn't really fair what happened. Lee Clark was a tremendous player for us who always give 100% and nobody can say anything different.
Quite simple mag or no mag he is not the right player for us anyway so is destine to fail. We need a Gyan or Bent or Welbeck and so on.... I would rather give Wickham the chance. I don't buy into all this mag business but what I will say is Steve Bruce was never trusted or liked because of his Newcastle roots, I personally think that we don't need that extra stress right now while we are in a precarious position. We all need to be pulling together. Some of our fans (I am not one of them) will never accept a Newcastle fan so we should not go down that road again.
I'm not mate - I simply don't understand why people are getting upset a Geordie making anti-sunderland comments?? It happens all the time on here and nothing is said and this article is not from this week or last - it is simply a supporter of Newcastle slagging of his rival club - nothing more
Which is fine and to be expected but then that doesnt mean he is then signed by us and expected to represent our club to the ebst of his heart and soul. This interview alone is good enough to convince me that he could NEVER EVER proudly wear the colours of my club with any affection or desire. His will be the signing that will bring down Martins link with the fans in my opinion, as he will become protective of him as the fans dislike of him grows. If he was a top player then maybe he could survive. He isnt and if he failed to score, or worse still had a derby day stinker, the crowd WOULD turn on him overnight because of his b&w love in. To answer an earlier point as well, I for one would certainly neither welcome the bloke to the club, nor cheer/support him on and would hope and pray he failed miserably with a nightmare here. Hope that clears up any confusion. NO MORE FRIGGIN CRAAS AT THIS CLUB.
Fair enough mate - we do normally agree on stuff I and agree that we don't want him at the club (albeit mine is cos I don't think he's good enough for us rather than his B&W roots! Don Hutchison never did us any wrong I know - was also delighted to beat them I believe!! Colback gives his all (but, presently, isn't at a level we want) - until Roy Keane mentioned it, I didn't even know he was a mag (wonder how many did prior to that?) and he has been put under immense pressure since by a large number on here and off here - maybe that has got to him as he looked a much better player before this season than he has in this season.
In the interview when he was asked the question all he had to say was "I would support my home town club - Gateshead" instead he drags Sunderland into it and this unfortunately is the mentality of the majority of the supporters from up the road. He also says that he would stay as far away from Sunderland and for me the feeling is mutual. I now have no confidence that he would put the ball away against them while playing for us if given the opportunity
Wouldn't happen though would it. No mag would do that against them. I remember an interview Clark did for a local paper AFTER he was peddled here. He was asked if he now regretted his actions and his stock answer wasn't contrite or apologetic but rather he said "at least it takes away a nagging problem of having to turn out for Sunderland against his boyhood team". Tells me everything I need to know about signing craas here. ALso, will people stop using Colback in these debates, as he is totally different. He has been with us since he was 12 years old, as Johnson was with Boro. Signing Graham would represent the biggest mistake of Mon's management here and create huge tension imo, when its just so not needed.
