Incredulous. Also Remy to Arsenal apparently. Doubt they'd be able to pay much at all. More than likely a loan ala Robinho to Santos.

None of you have heard about the 12" pizza box incident? I'm flabberghasted!

I can't see him leaving unless we recieve a good offer. He has 4 years on his contract left so colo hasn't got much leverage to force through a move. This other club has mentioned there on a budget, I think he will stay even if he wants to leave. MA won't risk relegation neither will pardew

An additive to the original story from NUFC.com

Having lost the major attacking threat of the team, to then bid farewell to their defensive lynch pin within a week could be a possibly fatal blow to our survival bid.

Football lore has it that teams prosper when they have a solid spine - if Coloccini follows Ba out of Gallowgate though, then ours will resemble more of an amoeba - and that's not a spelling mistake...

Notably, there is no quote from Colo, his agent, or anyone except San Loranzo people. Colo'd father is quoted, but he is San Lorenzo's manager, so that cannot be regarded as coming from Colo.

The quote about his wife being unhappy is about 4 years old.

If Mike lets Colo go and fails to recruit several more players then I can see some serious **** flying his way from the fans.

Whether this story is true or not, such speculation is the last thing we need at this point in our less than spectacular season. It is just so demoralising and disruptive.
There are a lot of theories circulating as to why Colo may want to leave, his wife, flying pizza, criticism from Pardew to name a few, we simply cannot know and until we have an official statement from the club or from a verified source representing Colo, then it's all bull, designed to unsettle a shaky team further or just more appalling lazy journalism. I guess the acid test may be whether Colo turns out for the game tomorrow or has a last minute relapse. Either way we seriously don't need this right now and if it's true the timing is dreadful.

If this is true, it really is devastating news, there are definitely serious problems behind the scenes, I get the impression one or two people can no longer face working together!

I note that we're all more willing to believe disastorus news than good new.

There is simply nothing in this story except quotes from a club in Argentina who say they would liek Colo, though they can't afford him.

    Treat it with contempt

****! If he does go can you really see us getting the 3 CBs we would need before the transfer window shuts?

@lee_ryder: Sources close to Coloccini have confirmed to the Chronicle that he wants to leave the club in the January window

‏@lee_ryder: So much for Coloccini's agent saying it was an "illusion" eh?

There were some rumours of a rift between the French lads and Collo, Jonas, Xisco and Santon a few weeks ago....

This could only happen if we sign two top cb before we sell him and if we don't he stays simple
We are already one foot in the championship and this would put the other one in it.
A lot of this highlights to me the attitude of Alan bloody pardew

Regardless of where they come from, they should be able to get on with each other as team mates.

Don't think Pardew comes out of it smelling of roses.

Have you seen that the club may now not take him to Norwich? Club captain, left behind because he wants to go to Argentina??

This is a real crisis looming - Williamson was a fcking disaster anyway, but as first choice centre back? It's a nightmare scenario. Are we really going to bring in two CB's?? I couldn't see us bringing in one (well, Steven Taylor is like a NEW player, divn't ye kna)
