Apparently he's not getting off to the best start. http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/189464-Send-McLean-back-now!
At the risk of boring everybody on here again Mclean needs to get off social media and start thinking about his career and how to save it, writing **** on Twitter isn't helping him.
He tweeted yesterday that Terry Connor was the best coach he had every been with. So he is at least getting the coach staff on his side.
That bloke who started it has overreacted a bit, at least the others are telling him to grow up. Anyway, Mclean is right: I (obviously i'm not the only one here) go down to Ipswich on regular visits (family down there) and the town centre it isn't very good.
This, massively. When you're in the public eye you should not say anything on social media that you wouldn't say to the press, in his case the Ipswich Evening Star. The fact that he's right (I stayed over for the away game in the promotion season and it was the ****test night out ever) is not the point. Bless him, he's just not very bright is he? And on another note, bangs goes our chance of selling him to them.
Anyone else see the irony of one of our players saying that Ipswich is **** for shopping while we've got a thread saying how **** Hull is for shopping?
Different levels of ****e though. I know he means shopping but I think Hull is a pretty poor night out, however compared to Ipswich it's Manhatten.
^ and this (I am rather more fond of my hometown than I would expect a visitor from Hull to be and so are most of the other 150,000 who grew up there).
footballers can say what they like as far as im concerned, as long as they do the business on the pitch.. when he starts knocking them in, itl soon be forgotten..
It's the same with every place, some fans and some detractors. Look at Preston Bus Station, for example, some people do not want that carbuncle flattened. Bet Ipswich Tourist Board (if there is such a body) must be loving him. There seems to be something wrong with the fabric within Ipswich FC, as weren't there stories with foundations regarding several of their players recently and Mick and his coaching staff aren't entirely helping their side rip through the division racing to promotion
How've they actually managed that? I live in the town centre in Dunfermline and choose to travel to Edinburgh for the majority of my shopping rather than doing it here, and it's still massively better than Hull for shopping on the basis we've got most of the same shops but without 5 empty shops between each occupied one making them too spread out.
The latest Twitter news regarding a footballer today: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-20986579 Clubs will start banning players from using the site soon unless it's via an official club account (i.e. vetted)
I agree, I dont think it'll be long before clubs start stopping all this, Which would be a shame, because some of the players post quite interesting things, and give a good insight into what goes on in the life of a pro footballers, Unfortunately being in such a position means they will always get a load of flack, It just depends on how bright the individual is as to how they respond. As for the Mclean situation, I can assure all Ipswich fans his tweets will be the least of your concerns...
