Soo...Rodgers is like that kid who got the manager's job in Azerbaijan due to football manager experience, exept Rodgers trumps him with Fifa? I think he'll come good (Sahin, that is, not the kid in Azerbaijan) either because; he wants to play into our team, he wants to play into the Real team or he wants to engineer a move back to Germany. He has no reason NOT to play well if given the time in his correct position. Problem is Gerrard is in that role lately and doing well.
That's where i'm really starting to doubt BR's judgement, a player of his quality to not even make the squad is quite alarming, makes it alot more easier to believe that it could be more than just lack of interest,I'm still sticking to thought that BR has some issues with him just because of that interview. i'm not waxing lyrical on this player if i've got no clue about him. I've seen him play since his time in the Bundesliga and i know how good a player he is. He wasn't just a one season wonder either. I for one thought, we pulled off one massive coup when we signed him. Plus you keep mentioning of his attitude and lack of interest, how the hell do you even know anything about it. Watch his first interview, he didn't sound like someone who didn't want to be here. Besides do you really think Madrid would force him to a club that he has no interest of playing for? If at all, he would be trying his best to prove his worth, not slacking, like what you seem to think. You don't have any clue about how good a player he is, if you did you'd probably be as mad as i'm, every time he doesn't make it to the squad.
I think we all know Sahin is a talented player. I would love for him to get more games but I'm at a point where I trust BR's judgement. I think there may be more questions over his attitude rather than ability. Henderson was not fancied by Rodgers. But he has somehow managed to force himself into the first team. I'm guessing this is through sheer hard work and determination in training. Has Sahin showed the same desire? I'm not so sure. I would like Sahin to stay if he shows the desire to succeed but if he doesn't, then there is no point in keeping him as he is an expensive squad player. It's the same with Carroll - he may be a good option to have on the bench but paying £80k p/w is far too expensive for that.
Maybe Sahin didn't want to join but you would expect him to still put the effort in rather than waste his whole career over it. However, what if he has an attitude? He could have been sulking from the off and it would only be getting worse as the weeks pass by with him not playing! I personally don't agree with us bringing loans in. If he had turned out to be fantastic it would have been great for the team this season. However, he would then either leave at the end of the season and we would have to use our summer budget replacing him and therefore the team doesn't progress forward, or we sign on a permanent deal using up our summer budget and thus, the team doesn't progress forward. Basically, I think loans can leave a team static for a couple of seasons. Of course, there is the other argument that if they play well enough to help us make the CL then we can attract better players, but the above still applies IMO.
I was completely against this but can't say I'd argue too much anymore, I think he is getting better although I do still have my doubts about why he's playing better...is it for his future?
look we made a direct chosie on right side forward.. sturridge or walcott... sturridge is not slow and is a big strong lad who add something that nobody at the club could have. wlcott aint coming. Look at left side forwards for our next sigining. sahin... pah! rodgers wanted someone in and mourinho sent him an offcast. if a player can't get along with the so called greatest man manager are we really suprised looking back that sahin turned out to be weak willed like aquilani... anyway..... i don't distrust or trust rodgers. his signings have been talented but also not great. allen has dissappointed a bit in terms of trying to hard and making errors compared to where he started, borini looked like he couldn't even get his shots off let alone score. he's promoted the right players and given them a chance and had not simply dismissed players as they were not his... bar carroll who he simply beleived was immobile and incapable of delivering the CF game he wants.... all in all he's got enrique back in and henderson to prove that its a falicy to call all kennys signings total flops... in the end its a mixed bag but real judgement on managers is not by signings its by league position. this is why ferguson can be called greatest ever due to success and not a totaly numpty for signing the likes of anderson, bebe, kleberson veron and so many other total flops. while we might dislike him the nuetrals will put him top of the pile and we all know it deep down. thats my 50 cents today.
With Sahin IMO he has had im guessin half a dozen games in the League wheres hes had a decent chunk of time to show his stuff (different from Assaidi who hasnt had the chance in the League),admittedly some of that time he has played as a 10 , he isnt a 10, could you imagine Alonso doin an excellent job at 10, probably not.In those minutes he has had in the League , he HASNT shone, other players seem to have the qualities he has plus other attributes also, he has no pace and is our worst CM without the ball. But as a holding mid he probably has more quality than anyone we have with tha ball, but he hasnt shown that so far in the League He will leave, if not this month in the summer, if there isnt a massive improvement Why 1. He hasnt performed anywhere near as well as we had hoped 2.He has had niggles 3. I think BR feels that we can afford to lose a DM with the balance of the squad, all JA,LL,JH,SL,JS can play there.I think he feels we can lose a DM but we need a AM ( a 10 ) extra. 10 IMO is THE MOST IMPORTANT, player on the pitch, we have players who can play there but not to a high standard.Sahin will go, and a 10 will come in
I suggest you go back and re-read every post I've made re Sahin as I've made it quite clear I DON'T know the reason why he isn't playing. It was you who was suggesting a degree of certainty as to BRs judgement calls being poor (as you do again in this post). Personally I'm much happier to back BR on this one than a loan player who SO FAR has done little to impress. Why are you so mad about this? I agree with you (as you'd know if you bothered to read my posts) that Sahin has some great qualities as a player and Iike you thought this could have been a massive coup for us even though I don't like loan deals in particular. However I ask again what has he done so far to EARN a place in the team? Certainly no more than Allen who at least impressed for his first few games and is ultimately on a long term contract at our club. As I said before IF (and yet again I stress the IF because you don't seem to understand such a simple word) BR has an inkling Sahin isn't fully committed then he shouldn't get anywhere near the first team. P.s. Can I count on your vote?
It says the the BBC that Tottenham were offered Michu on a free transfer in 2011 and showed no interest. They must be kicking themselves.
I'm glad it's not just us who make stupid decisions then!!! I heard that we turned away Ronaldo and Hodgson decided against putting a bid in for Hazard - grr At least we didn't turn down Ibrahiovic for Francis Jeffers!
Those players may not have developed in the same way had they made the alternative move. Can you imagine what Hodgson would have done with Hazard Same with Michu and the spuds, would he have played considering they had Modric and Van Der Vaart at the time? I doubt it! The Ibrahimovic / Jeffers one is very funny though
14:15 GMT: BREAKING: Borussia Dortmund have called a press conference, and are reportedly set to announce the return of Nuri Sahin to the Bundesliga champions. More on this as it happens.
Shocking if true. Great for him and Dortmund. That would free up even more wages, I really want to know where this money is gonna go.
This, with those wages gone ( what probably at least 70 a week?) that has to open the door for another good signing. Wonder who though? Hopefully someone other than Ince.
