I must confess over the Christmas period I have hardly had chance to watch Liverpool play and have only caught highlights,

I've started seeing a lot of Hendersons in people's starting squads, so my question is - has he genuinely been playing well? ie not the Andy Caroll "if you squint really hard he's a great player" kind of playing well, but has he been an invaluable part of the team and worthy of being starting 11 from now on?

    Opinions appreciated!

He has looked a lot better, he looks a lot more relaxed where as before he was like a chicken with no head. The pressure of playing for us had got to him I thought that was obvious.

Hes played well, our best player without the ball, and been a lot better with it, got an excellent ovation off the pitch v Sunderland which was totally deserved. The guy gives his absolute all,and that will always be noticed by kopites.Allen,Shelvs,Sahin and him have all been given minutes and at the moment at least Henderson has proved most effective alongside Gerrard and Lucas. Will be v surprised if he doesnt start v United

I like him. I did bawk at the fee we paid for him, and I still do sometimes.

I think he got used on the right of midfield a lot last season, and I never saw the point of putting him there because he did nothing on the right for Sunderland and never did anything for us.

In the centre he is much better. I've said before that when he is used as a DM he is brilliant. His movement is very good and plugs any gaps left by midfielders who are going forward, very much like Didi used to.

This christmas he was brilliant, hope he carrys on like this.

  6. I wouldn't say he's been ripping up trees but he's certainly been playing better. I think we are starting to see more of him pure and simply because he is playing in the middle. Rodgers has shifted Hendo to the right a couple of times during games where he then seems to disappear but this is probably harsh because he is subbed shortly after being moved too. We certainly benefit from his energy, especially with Gerrard in there too (that's not a dig at Stevie, a midfield three needs bags of energy)

    All of the above <ok>

He has played much better and I felt the last couple of games have been his best in a Red shirt. Far bigger tests to come however as the opposition he's excelled against hasn't been the best. He's certainly provided a bit of that Kuyt like energy on the pitch anyway. I think he suited the advanced midfield role against Sunderland because he closed down their defenders and midfielders constantly and no defenders like that.

As DDDDDD says he deserves a start against the manks.
