How many teams struggling in the league have gone on to do well in a cup? Aston Villa for instance, they're in the League Cup semis and they're doing worse than us in the league.

I didn't say I thought we'd get through to the 5th round, merely that I haven't given up hope yet! I'm optimistic about the replay, and think we've got a punchers chance against United if they and we get through. If it's West Ham, we've got more chance but I still wouldn't put us as favourites at Upton Park.

I know what you mean about consistency and fighting spirit, but (to be pedantic), consistency matters a lot more for success in the league than in the cup. You can be poor three weeks out of four, and as long as the one good game in four comes at the right time you can win a cup.

And when we do get to the 4th round match it is to be televised, the Club have announced -

Fulham’s potential FA Cup with Budweiser Fourth Round tie will be shown live on ESPN on Saturday 26th January (5.30pm).

Presumably anticipating that our opponents will be Man Utd - making it something like 39 times on the trot that their cup games have been televised. Not a lot of good to most fans who I guess don't subscribe. Nor is it ideal for those thinking of travelling (unless it turns out to be across London, of course).

It does mean there'll be a stream available online, though.

Well, looks like manager Michael Appleton might be leaving Blackpool. Whether this will have an effect on our tie remains to be seen.

It's going to be 1-1 at Old Trafford and then we'll do them 2-0 in the replay at the Cottage. You heard it here first.

I doubt I'll be able to get to the game, but one of my good mates is a United fan, so we'll watch it in the pub with a few beers and maybe have a tear-up afterwards <laugh>

Apparently they're going to be £45, TMHAL. My son and I were intending going but not so sure now.

£45 for seat in the gods. Bloody cheek. We should charge away fans what we're charged when we go away to their grounds.

The Club are running a special train which is reasonable price wise (£54) and a sensible way to go for a 5.30 ko. Still makes it a jolly expensive day out. Here is a link to the Club site with details for anyone interested in going.
