http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/22225/forest-keeper-camp-linked Would be a great signing IMO I've always rated him. If I remember correctly my first ever article on 606 was about how Jim should go for Camp after we got rid of Alexander!! Only 28, got alot of experience at this level, decent shot stopper and something which you don't see from many keepers nowadays is he likes to dominate his area and all for a free transfer!! Can't really understand why Forest are willing to let him go on a free!!
Straight to the point there jwm. Up until recently I thought camp was potentially very good. If he's free lets give him a shot. Although when we signed loach I thought we'd found the answer. The kelvin Davis rumours appear to have hit a buffer. He would've brought some necessary experience with him.
Whoever we do decide to bring in/have as number one I hope he is given a good run in the side. We've used far too many 'keepers lately and I just want it to be settled.
Often considered as the best keeper in this division.. had a number of Premier League clubs after him not so long ago so it's an interesting one that he's not only available but available on a free I smell something is a little fishy here....
I've obviously only seen him in good games, alot of the games I've seen him in he's been outstanding!! But yes I do remember the 2 pretty awful mistakes he made against us!! If we do sign him JWM are you and me going to have to disagree on a MM signing again??
Every player makes mistakes, it's just that those made by a 'keeper are much more evident. Name me a perfect 'keeper.
He was brilliant, but seems to have been sulking for 18 months, since Forest turned down the £1.8m bid from Swansea. There's still a good keeper in there somewhere.
and another ex norwich keeper! to be fair i've always quite liked him. he's just a bit too short but he's a great shot stopper. definitely better than loach
Cant see why Forest are so keen for him to leave. Have they even got a decent number 2? I Cant see us being the most obvious move for him but its better to be in the running than not to try. He did have an absolute nightmare here on his last visit but he is capable in general so no real complaints from me if its true.
To be honest it would show how far we've fallen from grace. I recall him getting some stick from the North Stand as a Derby player and thinking what an average keeper he was and nothing has ever changed that view. No better than Loach.
I have to disagree Lamps, I we manage to sign him I'll be pretty impressed as I'd imagine a few teams at the top of the league would be after him, maybe even a couple of PL clubs!! When ever I've seen him he's looked outstanding although his biggest downfall is that he's a little rash. A bit like Kasper Schmeichel, decent shot stopper, quick off his line and not afriad to come off his line or rush out but sometimes he makes the wrong decision which can be a little rash. But I'd prefer to see a keeper like this than one who is nervous to come of their line!!
good observation and i agree. i still maintain he's a much better keeper than loach though. not too sure what's happened to him at forest. has he had a falling out or is it form based?
Yes I agree better than Loach. Not sure heard on the grape vine that he hasn't been happy since Forest rejected an offer from Swansea for him and he hasn't showed the same form since. But what I also hear on the grape vine is that it's probably unlikely he will want to come to Ipswich because McGoldrick was well acquainted with Mrs Camp in his time at Forest!!
