Cortese does not intend to let any young players leave unless we don't need them or (whisper) we get relegated.
Just off the top of my head, the more obvious or recent ones: Joe Cole, Andy Carroll, Chamakh, Vaz Te, Paulista, Collins, Jaaskelainen, Jarvis, Maiga, Diarra, Benayoun (though is he back at Chelsea now? I hear we're interested in a loan). Also in for Olsson, Beckham, and who knows who else. And you were last season trying to buy up all hot strikers - almost as if trying to stockpile them away from your rivals - from Baldock and Maynard (who you got), to Sharp and Rhodes. Correct me if a lot of that is media bullshit, but the wages can't be cheap on msot of those players you have or allegedly want.
I think we have had to do 2 massive rebuilding jobs in the last 18 months. After years of awful management by Zola and Grant, aswell as the Icelandic disaster, it's no secret that we were in a bit of a mess when Allardyce took over. When we were relegated, we released over a dozen first team squad players. He had to make a series of signings to achieve the immediate objective of promotion. Once promoted, we had another mass clear out of players, not good enough for the top flight and these also had to be replaced. Our squad is not actually that big and this was shown when we recently didnt have enough players to fill our subs bench. With regards to the wages we pay, we have the 10th biggest wage bill in English football. Given where we sit in the league and where we are aiming to be, I think that's quite reasonable. I must agree thouh, bearing in mind we only play with one central striker, you would think that Carrol, Cole and Chamakh would be enough for that position so I am a bit confused about the Paulista signing. I wouldn't be surprised if Carrol was sent back to make room.

Was just about to say that... pennies for our owner He wouldn't be £15mil... Shaw did very well against us and kept Hazard very quiet at St Mary's. He will be the best England left back no doubt and with ASley leaving our club... he could be an option. I hope so
Sunderland confirm they have completed the signing of midfielder Alfred N'Diaye from Turkish club Bursaspor for an undisclosed fee. The 22-year-old has signed a three-year deal at the club.
I'm glad you think so, so do basically all of us. However the sad truth it that he'll get bugger all England caps while wearing the red and white of saints .
Nothing to see here In other news QPR are losing Nelsen at some point, and have failed in bids for Gallas and Olsson, they're in a spot of bother aren't they?
