**** me the Hunt on Sunday nights, now there's some memories.

Saw the best pub fight in the world up there with about 20 odd people involved going form one end to the other and there was a woman bouncer who was kicking **** out of everyone. We were squashed in one of the alcoves along the bar, still ordering beer as the bar never shut. Lol

The DJ was a sarky but funny ****er too.

Must have been 20 or 25 years ago that.

    Where you live now mate?
The Hunt burned down years ago, the dog track has gone as well, posh flats on there now & the Kings is now a swingers place called the Love Shack.
The Royal is still there & the Blue Boar, both **** holes like.

When I was a teenager, I used to occasionally drink in a pub on Stanley Main Street, there was always bother but the police kept it open because they knew where the troublemakers where I think it was called the Commercial.
I have seen horse and traps tied up outside and people winning the meat draw would fry it up on a coal shovel over the open fire, all absolutely true but I will stop now for fear of being labelled a liar or even worse..........................................OLD

I seem to remember a boozer opening up called Hollywood and Sam Fox opening it? Was I just dreaming that? Or fantasising it anyway.

Pub was down where the original Conroy's shop was I think.

Billy, I am old, I remember going to Consett baths before Stanley baths were built (I met my wife at Stanley baths) and before Consett baths we used to walk over to Rolands Gill, through Dipton woods and swim in the river.

I can remember getting a tip for a dog from the kennels at Stanley, my mate used to walk dogs for a dodgy bloke and we got the tip that it was trying, the bloody thing came out the traps backwards and we lost a couple of bob on it.
