Well I didn't expect that! Just to echo BLS, a big thank you to AG for all his efforts over the last year, 2 years? However long it was. If I can be half the mod that AG, BLS and El_B have been/are, then I'll be happy. I'm pleased I got more than 50% of the vote (and I didn't vote for myself) because it means that more people wanted me than didn't, which is a good sign, because it means if I'm an unmitigated disaster, then I can blame the majority of this forum for choosing me. Cheers for the offer BLS, I suspect I'll be making use of that. Now, platitudes out of the way... please log in to view this image And maybe I'll finally work out how to post large images too...
[ Img ] www. thePicture. com [ /IMG ] With no spaces Thanks to all who volunteered to be a mod to, forgot to add that in before
First off, I'd have been happy with any of the candidates and they should be commended for putting themselves forward, some of the active members of the forum (myself included) couldn't do that so first of all, applause to all of the candidates for that Secondly, congratulations to DHC! You were, in fact, my second choice (I voted for RR >_>) but the fact you were my second choice should say a lot about the impression you've made! I know you'll make a great mod because you are not only very active both in the off-topic discussions and the main body of the forum but you also show real concern for the state and direction of the forum. (Also you have what appears to be a Timesplitters avatar.) So to DHCanary!
Like tomtom I voted for RoadRunner but you were a very close second DH so I am happy that you've got the position
When i voted for you DHC you were 4-1 down to RR. Therefore i credit myself entirely for turning your campaign around and expect a cheque in the post
Yep, it's great to see so many people prepared to be active. As I think Cosicave's brought up previously, we're a decent bunch on here, and generally we seem to moderate ourselves. Well, at least that was my opinion as an outsider looking in, I'll have to see if that changes! Edit: Also tomtom, what's up with your username? I voted for Roadrunner too, I thought having a different timezone covered would be handy, but others clearly thought otherwise. And yeah, it's a Timesplitters avatar, thanks for noticing! Yeah, I was behind for a while to begin with, as I said, I expected people to want another timezone covered, but it's nice to be chosen and hopefully I'll do a good job!
such fun I grew bored of di Resta and decided to change my name back, but tomtom94 and TomTom94 have both been taken in the interim. So I went a little crazy. I like it, though I might change it to a more sane version when I get the chance.
It seems the guy who deals with allocating who is a mod has the cheek to take the evening off He's knows the result now so you'll see the change some point in the not to distant future DHC
That's cool, well I'm travelling back to uni tomorrow evening, so assuming the guy in charge has a job with regular hours, I'll probably find out when I'm back.
Hey I'm finally back (stupid technology, considering going Amish...grumble)! Any-who well done to DHC on becoming the new mod, I hope you do terrib-- I mean fantastic Surprised I got that many votes tbh, it's too bad I didn't fix my interweb in time to vote at all (would've gone to either DHC or Paco). Oh well <wanders off mumbling about British bias, and Australians getting no love>
Congratulations to DHCanary, who I'm certain will do a great job! Also, congratulations to the other candidates who received backing; especially RoadRunner who received the largest share of other votes, and would also have been an excellent choice. Commiserations to Nazara, whose activity-rate relative to others was probably a factor. However, like EMSC and Kyle, he should also be commended for volunteering for what can often be a thankless task.
