He'd be good for you. On a free, if you go up and he's not good enough then you've got a perfectly good enough back up keeper. He's only 28 (I thought he was older than that) and he'll have sell on value should he have a decent season with someone. I've heard you were after a keeper (not sure why, that Jakupovic was the difference in our game) and he'd be good enough. I'd have him at Leicester to keep Kasper busy in goal. Sometimes I think he knows that he hasn't got real talent to keep him on his toes but then again he's probably got the best 'professional mentality' at the club. Should have seen him when we conceded against Huddersfield, he went ballistic.
Correct. Yes he did. I agree 100% with you. We dont want bad apples like Lee Camp no matter how good a keeper he is,. Let him disrupt another club. Jakupovic has done enough IMO to stay @ No.1,, well for now at least,. No rush and we can wait for the emergency transfer window to open up in february.
Agreed. Not so long ago people were ****ting themselves at the prospect of Jakupovic taking over from Stockdale. He hasn't had enough games to assert himself as our long-term custodian yet and that's no criticism. We need to sign the best keeper we can get and like in all positions the only rule should be that no-one is a 'regular' and everyone who gets a place in the team gets it only on merit.
Jakupovic the difference..............LOL! Which fcuking game were you at, all he had to deal with were a couple of longshots. What really made the difference was Jay Simpson missing an empty net and Faye missing an unchallenged header from 6 yards.
He made some really class saves to deny Knockaert, Marshall and Drinkwater. Bit different to missing a header from about 10 years out and someone jumping all over Wes Morgan to miss. Just my opinion.
Yeah, well your opinion is wrong ****forbrains, Morgan was nowhere near Faye, it was a free header, and if you think they were class saves you obviously haven't seen a class goalkeeper for long while. The saves he made were bread and butter saves for a goalie at this level.
I remember one where he tipped it over the bar that was pretty good. I cant remember him having to deal with any other shots of quality.
The best save of that game was Schmeichel putting it round the post (can't remember who's shot it was from) that for me was the difference.
He tipped Knockaert's effort over the bar which was destined for the top corner, really reached for it. He also saved Drinkwater one on one. He also blocked a Ben Marshall drive which was going in the bottom corner. If that doesn't count as the difference then I give up. Anyway gents, i'll let you discuss it
From what I remember only the fist one was a save that I thought was really nice. The others were saves that you might not save 100% of the time but still saves that one expects a keeper at this level to make.
Not the worst signing in the World, but I think we could have got better. I.e. Mannone or Stockdale...
