I feel it is getting like this everywhere. 62 pounds is crazy expensive. In 2008 I went to 22 Washington capitals games at $5 a piece. Now the cheapest seat in the house is around $50. With every game a sell out they just keep raising the prices, and eliminating the cheap seats.

    Are they in debt?

My mate spent £100 (just for the 1 ticket) to go the Emirates to watch Arsenal v Man Utd last season. Luckily for him he could afford it.

Football is a business now, but that much money is a joke.

American teams do not go into debt. There are a few teams that do not make a profit but profit sharing in general fixes that. Once in a while a team just cant hack it in their current market and they move cities. Since our sports are set up different than yours, ie larger populations per professional team, all sports and all teams are on tv, salary caps, profit sharing etc. Teams going into debt is unheard of and I am not even sure that they can go into debt by league rules. The hockey team in Phoenix is a good example. They are having a hard time staying there (hockey in the desert?) but through profit sharing they are still in the positive but if they do not fix the situation soon the NHL will force them to move cities.

For instance a team being sold to another owner is really a pretty rare thing. Owners do not bankroll teams like they do there. The lack of promotion and relegation mean that there is no insensitive to blow millions and millions on a gamble for the payday.
