Dave Whatt who did that is a real nice guy. I used to work with someone who was a friend so met him a lot. He also did the first hull speak book/postcard that has been much copied since.

That underground poster was framed in that pub off castle st/humber st area (stuffed if I can remember the name) about 10 years ago.

Yeah - Dave's a very clever guy. Did a lot of work with Remould Theatre. Hull Man and his other bands were good. Builds fantastic guitars - Owl Guitars. I've still got a few of the postcards of this map, from when I left Hull (I think the Ferens Art Gallery stocks them).
Then I came across this recently: https://soundcloud.com/dave-whatt

The Minerva? Wanted one when I saw it, never found one though. Often wonder where it went, if it's not still there.

Hi guys, I've been trying to get that underground poster with the pubs on it for months! It seems it isn't available anywhere! Not even in the gallery or indoor market!

Nope, not Minerva. On the road across Castle street from Lowgate. Began with H? Oh, and you might be right, it might have been pubs.

I can only think of the Oberon (on the left, just before you come to the open parking space at the pier). I'm not certain, but it might now have a different name?

Who's the publisher - does it say? I'd love one, and so would Parky. And jacksdad.

Talisker - it is by slaphead designs?! I've been told they used to publish them but no longer around? Any chance you can provide a copy of it to me stan and jacksdad? We could get any copy blown up to the size we want.

If he's going to scan it - it'll depend on the size. Most home scanners are A4. Good idea though. <ok>

That's true - a printing friend of mine told me there is a process to blow up pictures and the clarity won't effected by any lack of pixel numbers - it's a bit more expensive apparently but I think it is worth it.

I was just thinking of how he'll copy/scan it in the first place. The process you mention is surely to blow up a small pic to larger?

That's right stan - I'm getting a bit ahead of myself here.

Fingers crossed talisker can scan it!

The version (Flickr) that I used is the Dave Whatt original 'Hull Tube'. The one we're talking about is one, inspired by Dave's, which connects all the Hull pubs. A sort-of pub-crawl tube map. I've never seen it.
