So who's going to step up then? Sad to hear you've had enough Hampy, it can't be easy trying to keep things in order and everyone happy. Respect to you for doing it for so long
Thank you for your services to Not606 and to Ipswich Town F.C. Will there be a replacement or are we leaving it to Guru to step up and be a one man band..
I don't know where Guru's at. If one or more of you (regular posters) are interested in the role I'm sure everyone else will give their support. If so the interested parties could get in touch with brb the super mod, I'd maybe suggest starting a thread to gauge interest. If there aren't any takers then it'd be a case of messaging brb if anyone has cause for complaint on something posted.
I would throw my hat in the ring - but I imagine there would be more dedicated and regular posters who would be better suited candidates... Maybe Guru will return to lead this great forum again
I know this is nothing to do with me, but I'll say it anyway, when Hampy first announced that he wished to step down, my first thought was KopR would make a good mod, liked and respected on his own board and able to post on ours and get his point across without ruffling any feathers! (pun intended)
JWM there was a time when I would have championed your cause, I still like you and enjoy the banter, but lately you've been on an emotional roller-coaster, both my ex wives have been more rational!
I'm so sorry JWM, I had no idea, tbh the state of your team recently is more than enough reason for huge mood swings! We (Norwich) may be going well atm, but I still feel the pain of a few years back, slipping down to the third tier, then that unforgetable first match of the season, the piss-taking by Town fans, and knowing that it was justified! That all pales to insignificance when faced with a bereavement! Sincere condolences my friend, I hope you've turned the corner now!
Very sorry to hear that Warky - all very tough and much to consider. Maybe a nice Away day at Cardiff might cheer you up! Tho, with 11 strikers on the park I am not sure they have all been introduced to each other!
Guys My dear old Dad first started going up to Portman Road in the mid 50s when Alf first started as manager and of course he started taking me regularly in the early 70s. The one strong bond we shared was our love for the football club and we had so many happy memories of going to watch Town. My first ever trip abroad was to watch Town play AZ 67 in the UEFA Cup Final. What saddened me the most was that in the final couple of years he completely gave up all interest in Ipswich Town as he said that it wasn't the same club that he supported for over 50 years. The clubs fortunes over the last 5 years pretty much mirrored my fathers gradual decline and I think it broke his heart at the end. We got a very nice letter from the club when he passed away which is a lovely gesture and his ashes were scattered on the pitch near the SBR. I just wish he could have witnessed one last hurrah in the Premier League before he passed away and there's me wishing that my Son will someday witness it before I shuffle on!
Warky my dear old chum I really don't know what to say. I'm glad that Mick has at least been able to bring a little bit of light to Portman Road at such a difficult time for you. All banter and squabbles aside because none of that matters and I'm sure we will all try to be a little more sensitive.
You know me Yorkie I can take the banter and worse! It has been a difficult last 12 months but I guess we've all got our own **** going on! Cheers for your kind words
