Afternoon chaps - some good tipping been going on I see - well done all Nothing leapt out at me last night so no bets except I joined Sir Barney on his two untried newbies at Ludlow David Probert been given a holiday - was that because of his riding of Honourable Knight? I didn't see the race but note that Beat Route didn't get a clear run. (There used to be a gay night club called Beat Route, in Haringay, north London. I wasn't a visitor, but I drove a cab for 6 months and this was a regular drop!)
jumped great and is honest and brave. Interesting to see how far he can go over fences. Still think he lacks something on the two Hendo horses, but I would think he could give them a good test.
I wasn't overly impressed with that but hopefully there's a bit of work left on him. Still I'm glad I backed him last night because he's a sea of blue on odds checker and Simonsig is no value whilst I can't see any of the others winning the Arkle.
Good on PP, though they're the 1 firm I won't bet with. 8 firms have shortened him up by the looks of it. Others, such as Coral and Skybet, have indeed left him unchanged at 5/1. How big of them.
He was 142P (Master Rating) going into the race with Conquisto on 139p. So either Conquisto should drop (or at least lose the "p") or Overturn should go up. Maybe a bit of each. Will be interesting to see if Overturn has lost his "P".
The firm were impressed enough by his Doncaster win to trim the nine-year-old to 5-1 (from 6) for the Racing Post Arkle. Simonsig remains their 10-11 favourite. (5 mins ago) those firms Blue square,Bet Victor and Sky bet, BUT they have simonsig odds against as opposed to evens
If you wernt going to have a bet George would you still see Overturn beating Simonsig...? McCain did say that he would prefer better ground, good is what he did say, and your prob going to get that than the deadish ground here today. But that going would also help Simonsig and i dont see Overturn beating him... What do you think...?
If he continues to be shorter than 7s on Betfair then I might have to move in for some of the 7s from Ladbrokes. Aside from Hills and Boyles, which others have remained unchanged at 6/1? All the other 6s are blue on Odds checker but I didn't check yesterday, just took 7s from Lads as they were best priced.
Sweet Force has landed someone with a big big profit today... 14/1 into 5's and hoses up...!!! Well done to those who knew...
Before today I was adamant that Overturn was the one to beat. His debut was near perfect and taking into account they way he runs his races, the way he jumped that day and his hurdle rating I was supremely confident. Today was less 'wow' but I still think he has a real chance. Simonsig has taken to fences very well. I was at Kempton on the 27th and he was so, so good, the best novice 2m performance of the season. He's no price though, he went into near evens after his 1st race which really just proved he was alive. I'd rather back Overturn now at 7s than Simonsig at 10/11 that's for sure.
