Same here & we're similar ages, I 'hated' Liverpool for a couple of hours on derby day, but I went to their parade with the European Cup (thanks Emlyn) as that's how it was back then. I was at the '84 Milk Cup final & both FA Cup finals & the atmosphere back then to how it is now is very different & it's a real shame, but at least we can waffle on about 'the good old days' eh mate. <laugh>

re the net ...I think that it's easy to be unclear when trying to keep a point short so you can be misunderstood or come across as a bit crass. I understand that as I must have done that plenty of times...what amazes me is how hard some people find it to apologise or admit that were wrong.

I think there's lots of wumming (which can be funny and or annoying) but some of what I've read seems sick sometimes but each to their own I guess.

I watch kids in school (I'm a teaching Assistant in a primary school) and watch some kids behave like this to each other, over react, refuse to back down when wrong etc. I then see their parents and I can see where they get it from.

I think it is a much wider problem (like others have said) where people seem to find it easier to be impatient, rude, ignorant and aggressive than polite, friendly and thoughtful. I told my class that I gave my old reading glasses to charity and quite a few of them (they are 6 yr olds) asked how much I got for them so I explained the idea of charity (giving to help someone) and they just didn't get it. Sad really...they are only babies and they are not being brought up with a sense of community or a soul ... **** me how old do I sound? <laugh>

kids are brought up without manners now days, i keep telling my 6yr old to put her hand over her mouth when she coughs and i see other kids just cough and straight in other kids faces,no wonder kids are always ill now days, and you know what she says to me don't you lol, well other people do it, the only thing i can answer to that is well it doesn't make it right just because others do it, Please and thank you seem to be such an effort as well.

bring back shame that will sort it out, no one cares for their actions any more, some see what these asbo types(sorry dont know the latest tech term for them is) as heros, they think getting a court order for beating up an old person say and being on curfue with a tag as heroic, no it fecking isn't its disgraceful, just a shame we cant go back to the old school way of dealing with things, give them a ruddy slap and they will stop it.

i was brought up respect your elders, feck knows what it will be like when i am an old git.

my mates took the piss one time as you know these pixeled out photos they do as to not identify the person, well one looked like me in all honesty and i felt ashamed, todays society the person would think they was a friging rock star for being in the papers.

My dad took me to my first game in '83 (beat Cov 4-0) but that was sitting in the Kemlyn. He stopped going after Heysel because he was pig sick of all the **** and didn't want us getting involved but my Uncle used to take us "shopping" every other Saturday <laugh> First time I stood was 86/87 season and I had to try and balance on the barrier all game. For the record I'm 37 <ok>

    True Jaffa,

dont know if you watch room 101 or know what its about, but they had spitting on there, and even said no need for it in prof sport, as what kind of example is it giving youngsters.

Yep. Both of our (Liverpool & Everton) closest rivals then were Villa, Forest & Leeds

Chelsea fans, who I believe are the worst have seemingly kept clear, despite their multiple daily visits here.

Just keep asking them to talk you through SWP's goal. Makes them go very quiet.
