God does exist, he created the heavens, the earth and all that live upon it Only a total ****** would disagree.
Well, obviously. But it's a nonsense theory dreamed up by Creationists to give them something to cling to when faced with logical arguments against the existence of God. It's just another example of conveniently blurring the lines so you don't have to provide proof. It's no more concrete in it's assertion than saying that magic pixies created the universe.
He made it days ago when he agreed with Gerard when he said it is s pointless argument because nothing can be proven either way.
There's nothing "to get" if you have no argument. It is ALWAYS worthwhile discussing the existence of God because, as science reveals more and more about the universe and the nonsense of religion, it weakens the hand of God followers until they are reduced to the likes of Rebel and his "I believe he exists and that's all that matters" baloney. Religious followers used to point to miracles as evidence of God's existence. Now that science has exposed and continues to expose these "miracles" as nothing more than acts of nature, they follow the root of "well, it's not worth arguing about" or "well, you can't prove he doesn't exist" garbage. Blind faith is the ultimate cop-out of the gullible and feeble-minded.
Woohoo! Another mention! I can confirm, that I did say it is a pointless argument and I stick by that. If anybody on here or indeed the world thinks that they can explain how we are on a ball of rock in ****ing space and how we all got here, then please do. Simple answer, they can't. It is a complete mind ****. I went off on a tangent slightly, but, back the the point, what did who make a few days ago when he agreed with me?
I would suggest beginners guides to cosmology, geology and biology. And then read Charles Darwin's On The Origins of Species. Or for an all-in-one, enjoyable read, Bill Bryson's A Short History of Nearly Everything. Or we could just not question anything and live like hippies. It's all good. ps We could also ban condoms and watch millions of people dying of AIDS in Africa because the Catholic church, acting on behalf of Rebel's God, says they're evil.
The theology of Gap-fitting is childish. Something happened, no explanation, therefore the most reasonable argument is God did it. ...and then you're expected to prove otherwise.
Dunno about anyone else but my faith in god is either strengthened or weakened dependent on the performance of my football team or the horses I've backed. I'm currently teetering on the brink of aetheism.
