http://www.lcfc.com/news/article/070113-keane-composure-impresses-shakey-584244.aspx ... he's not the only one - I think this kid has great potential and with Man United's glut of central defenders - Sir AF says Rio is good enough to carry on for at least a couple of years - Johhny Evans just signed up for 5 - plus Vidic and Smalling - they might just contemplate an offer with sell ons .. come on Nige, get your wallet out ..
Because although UTD have their full defense back, Evra is the only one who isnt consistently injured and he's their weakest defender. Vidic's knee could go at any second, Ferdinand's back too. Jones has muscle problems and Smalling is very injury prone.
Can't see him playing regularly for United though, they'd rather bring in a player on an emergency loan I'm sure.
Can't imagine Man Utd emergency loaning anyone, who in their right mind would loan them a player? 'Here you go Man U, we wanted you to win the league all along.' One thing that can be said with Fergie is that he will stick with his youths, in fact I remember our Ritchie (De Laet that is) playing for them when very young a few years back in an injury crisis.
I was actually thinking about from overseas, but then I remembered they don't have emergency loans there! De Laet only played for United in the League Cup.
Nah he got a couple of appearances when they had a few injuries, think he ended up playing left back! From wikipedia: 'He then played his first league game of the 2009–10 season on 15 December against Wolverhampton Wanderers. He played his second league game against Fulham on 19 December which ended in a 3–0 defeat.'
Quite possibly. Was going to leave it out when I saw the 3-0 defeat thing but think De Laet probably couldn't be deemed that culpable
I used Wikipedia for this info and it says he made three appearance for United in the League Cup but I didn't read on (the bit about league appearances) because in his profile in the side column it says he played for United three times in total! Good old reliable Wikipedia!
