I saw this on the Meyler/Brady thread, I hope Bruce hasn't given up on Stockdale

I misread this at first. I thought it was Stockdale saying to Meyler that he would see him in goal soon.

If we spunk £4m, or even £2m for that matter, on Stockdale, I'll not be happy!

Much, much better value for money out there! Christ, we could get Mannone for £2m and Craig Gordon for nowt!

It wouldn't suprise me at all if we don't buy another player in this window.
If we do it will be Campbell, if not its loan players now we have some slots free.

We wont spend anywhere near £4m on Stockdale.

But at least we now have 2 loan slots open again. Stockdale on a season long loan looks more apt when they get another GK in. Over to you Martin Jol.

    Am I reading this correct?

Everyone is talking about which keeper we could get....

How about let's keep Jakupovic because he's been awesome?

Stockdale or any other keeper of that level are not going to sign knowing they're going to be bench warming.

If Jakupovic keeps performing as he is, no one will be replacing him anytime soon.

If we're recruting a second goal keeper we will be looking for an oldish experience keeper on the cheap as backup to Jakupovic.

IF we sign Stcokdale then he will have wait his turn. The Jakupovic is playing he may have to wait a while. Thankful;ly the rush for another GK is not as big a requirement as it could have been.

We also have the Emergency Loan Window when that opens up in February to get another GK in if we dont by the end of January.

I'd rather have Jak than Fleetwood Mac in goal too.

    I'd rather we signed Elmo.

Don't want to get to the last few days of the transfer window only for Sunderland to recall him, because they couldn't sign their targets.

Jakupovic has been the sensation of the season for me. I know everyone would say Aluko, but we all knew he was quality.. the Jak was a complete mystery though and has been really impressive. He's also a City player not a loanee. I think Stockdale would have his hands full competing (pardon the pun!)

    He's been brilliant tonight.

Absolute bollocks that the decision to release him was "footballing reasons".

When everybody was saying that they'd seen Jakupovic at training and he was awful, flapping, couldn't stop shots etc, I always said they were wrong.

I'd seen him and thought he was fine, I'm glad he's finally got his chance and has managed to prove a point.

I'd still much rather have Stockdale or Mannone TBH.

Stockdale pretty mannone would be good and realistic. Would be good to have two quality keepers fighting to be no.1. Reckon £1m plus add ons could do it!!!

Not with Stockdale and Mannone, if they signed, they'd sign expecting to be number 1, not to be on the bench. Meaning one of them would be unsettled and want to leave. Impossible to have them both.

For those who were there on Sat what did you think when Jak went down injured?

To me he is very agile and has made some very good diving saves tipping over.he doesn't seem to have been tested low down .being beaten low down was were Amos seemed to loose his confidence.
