As you'll know we play you in the premier league on Saturday, I was wondering whether you think you will rest any players for the match given that you've got the league cup match on Wednesday against Chelsea and the Arsenal replay a week later which I imagine are higher priority games (especially the former).

good luck against Chelsea by the way.

Yes we will rest players throughout January as we have a lot of games. Will we do it for the Everton game? I suspect not to be honest as the league is our priority

It's anyone's guess what side we'll put out to be honest. Laudrup has rotated the side well over the last couple of weeks and I would say it's difficult to name our best side at the moment.
I wouldn't mind betting that we'll be seeing Tremmel starting ahead of Vorm though as he's probably more comfortable with the ariel threat

My guess is that any 'resting' will be for the Arsenal game but as SA9 says it's difficult to name our best side at the moment

Laudrup really wants to win a cup, so he will play his 'strongest' side in both cup semis IMO. As the guys above have said, we have developed a squad of fairly equal players and all are fit apart from Neil Taylor. The squad aren't all internationals - nothing like - but they come in and do a good job and all play the system.

The fringe players that have played recently have done very well so there wont be a huge difference to our game even if we field a 'weakened' team

There is no way we will surrender League points - our strongest team will be out against Everton

I think a lot depends on the result with Chelsea tomorrow. If we are beaten by 3 or more goals then I think we have no chance - and that will mean we probably rest a lot of players for the home leg with Chelsea. I think we'll go full strength against Everton although I still think we'll get beaten.

we don't have fringe players we have squad players and sir mike uses his players suited to whoever we play...Michu and Leon are about the only players missed, the rest can all do a good job when selected....

Would agree with that Dai. After seeing Bartley perform on Sat, would be very confident with him in the line-up. Same goes with Tiendalli. And as for midfield .... well, it's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get. <laugh>

I think a lot will depend on tomorrow nights selection, if he goes with a strong team, which he will, then he's going to have to rest a few players for Saturday, but he's clever with his rotation, as an example, if Michu starts against Chelsea, he'll be taken off at 70 minutes, and will come on as a sub at 60 minutes on Saturday, so we don't really have a weakened team, as there is plenty of choice for Midfield too, My only worry is Britton, he pulls the strings in our midfield, and I'm sure he will start for tomorrow nights game, which will mean he'll be out for Saturday, which will mean that Agustien will need to be at his best, not like on Sunday against Arsenal!...................<ok>

PS: It's about time we put out our best physical side against the toffees, we are due a result against them in my view!.........<cheers>

Anything would be nice, I'd settle for a point. My mates a Toffee can't have them doing the double on us. If they do I have he get's a free night down the pub, we me picking up the tab. :emoticon-0106-cryin

That was a foolish bet! Nah we will get a point I reckon. If we actually get a penalty this season that would help too.

I think Phil has hit the nail on the head. If Chelsea miller us tomorrow then put out a full team against Everton and Arsenal in the cup and make changes for the Chelsea 2nd leg, if of course they're out of sight

I couldn't get the time off work mate but I will definitely be there for the league game. I'm relying on you two to sneak me in somewhere for a cheeky pint because we couldn't get one anywhere last season because of Cardiff playing up in the cup game.

I understand you're coming for the 2nd leg though, there'll be a pint waiting for you !! I've still got your number too

That's fair enough... Yeah we'll do our best... I'll hopefully be around <ok>

Yeah well we should hopefully be there for the cup game. I'm gunna travel down from Leeds to Swansea and meet my old man there and then drive back to Bucks. We got given an allocation of 3244 at your place which we will do extremely well to sell out imo. 3244 for a midweek game is top form without it being 3 hours away! Hopefully bring about 2500-2750... Yeah we'll hopefully see you for the second leg
