for example millwall fans would have you believe kenny jacketts a good manager but he's had 13 million more to spend than his Leeds counterpart over the last five years.and only 2pts better off for it a good manager would have done much better.

Chesh you get twice our gates, you charge far more dosh, you make millions more than us each season. Jackett on a shoestring has spent 5 years building a team 5 bloody years adding one player here one player there, and on next to no money at all, But what ever money we have had our chairman has given every penny to build what is of uttermost importance A TEAM and we will continue to grow step by step. Leeds every season for what ever reason tear up your team sheets and start afresh. It doesnt work mate unless you are megga rich which your club and my club are NOT. Jackett has done miracles in 5 years...its called building with loyalty and commitment to the cause, all our players are tied down to long contracts and apart from Morison not any have shown a desire to want to quit the club. GOOD MANAGEMENT AT ITS BEST MATE long may it continue!!
yer Leeds have had more income but that's not what's shown Leeds are -12 million money spent on players while millwall are + 1 million a 13 million difference.which league do you think millwall would be in if they had had to sell 12 million worth of players in the same 5 years. The fact you haven't had to sell shows you have had a much better owner but considering money available for players we have had much better managers [surely] even if we haven't always thought so.
Surprised at first Leicester less than Hull but I guess that was Hulls little flirt in the Premiership
I know exactly where we would be chesh we have always been a selling club. had to sell our top players just to survive thank **** we now have a chairman whos views are completly different,,,, He has just made a statement about wood leaving and about us replacing him i will try and find you the link,He quite clearly says and he is right, we will not be rushed we have a game plan,, its easy for a manager to sign players whats difficult is signing the right ones, We will bide our time and get it right. I dont think we are ready for the prem not by a long way but we are only one or 2 players short and we will get them but at our time and at the right price,,,,If we fail this year we will make it next year you spent 17million on executive boxes what a team you could have had with the players that you had,,,,
couldn't agree more m8,just hi-lights how much bates has fooked the club up.would Larry have taken us up with that 17 million to spend on players ?[probably] or if the 12 million profit from sales was given to larry or colin would we be up there ? [probably] and that's without one penny from kens pocket.
Chesh Bates took on Leeds to make money and he did for himself,,,,You need a chairman who loves the club then youll get what you want
There will be a story behind every club. I am just looking at how Leeds stand up in comparison to the other tope half teams. Looking at the last 2 seasons, as 1 season is probably not lonmg enough to see all the results of spending/not spending - what I find is: In the top 10 teams in this league, the top 3 spenders are Hull, Cardiff and Leicester (in reverse order) and those clubs are currently 2nd, 1st and 5th in the table................... the top 3 sellers are Watford, Leeds, Middlesboro (in that order). On that basis, pats on the back for the Watford and (both) Leeds managers. (Maybe Boro too, don't know the story there) Just confirms what I already thought - if you want mediocre mid table Championship football, you have to pay Premier prices.......... or something ps. hope this info is accurate on this site - did we really get £8m for Delph?
I like this page from that site - shows you all you need to know about history http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/championship/gruendungsdaten/wettbewerb_GB2.html
Watford looks good on paper but only able to do that due to being given half a team on loan by an Italian club,Middlesboro's players sold is due to them selling off nearly all there prem players when relagated,Leeds is even more impressive from a managers point of view because we started with nothing after admin.
I haven't rummaged around on that site, but does it detail what it means by those figures? What I mean by that is many transfers are for undisclosed fees and most are also staged payments based on a number of different factors such as games played, promotion etc. There's also sell on fees to take into account. Plus, some clubs have a wage policy, but get around it with bonuses etc written in to the transfer or by calling it image rights. Personally I think the figures are pretty meaningless as they're unlikely to be accurate or comparing like for like.
Leeds is even more impressive from a managers point of view because we started with nothing after admin. youve still got nothing
