Is this the first major Hull City signing to be announced by social media. The Hull Daily Mail now seems to be trying to make an exclusive on the size of the 'thought to be in the region of' 'undisclosed fee'. The key is in the word 'undisclosed'. That means nobody knows!! Anyone know how 'Umbersard made their 'exclusive' announcement?
Great way to announce it really, straight from the horses mouth. Don't listen to the radio so can't comment, time moves on.
They're just guessing. No one but the clubs know exactly how much they paid for the players. Most of the amounts media come up with is just guess work and a bit of common sense.
Just came out with the news at the start of tonights sportstalk. They said just released within the last half hour. I feel the HDM have lost it. When you read Phil Buckinghams piece last week on Robbie Brady it just beggars belief. Talk about shooting in the dark.
That's technically not true (although I bet the Allams would be happy if they could buy now and agree on a fee in the distant future). Someone out there knows, even if the City fan that worked at the FA doesn't know.
Buckingham just sits at his desk constantly reloading not 606 and seeing what gossip we all have. Lazy journalism easy job really.
i am only guessing of course but i still suggest that Hull City have not paid anything like £2.6 million for Nick Proschwitz. The local media (and perhaps Mr Allam) would have us believe this headline figure, but this kind of deal nowadays must be complicated in so many ways. I found it quite interesting that the teaboy (or whoever) who rushed the online Hull Daily Mail article tonight is announcing that Steve Bruce's spending has now reached £6 million. That would be an undisclosed and/or assumed £6 million would it? If in doubt, write summat that fills a space!!
There are many on here who seem to KNOW the Proschwitz fee (whether they do remains to be seen) and see it at less than a million. I would assume the actual spend at this point is a long way south of £6m. But then I have no insights, other than gut instinct.
We have only payed 1m so far, the rest depends on the amount of appearances he makes and goals he scores, hence why Bruce isn't playing him that often!
Everyone's saying how brilliant it is that he's joined Twitter, other than Hull City fans, who are giving him some serious abuse. Carry on ladies and gentlemen.
Yeah, we're not playing our main striker signing in case he scores loads of goals that get us promoted and we have to pay a bigger fee for him.
I just got up and was intrigued to hear what spin 'Umbersard would put on their story of the signings this morning. They seem to be running a section of an old news interview with Nick Thompson some weeks ago when he was talking about bringing forward transfer funds from the Summer to pay for signings now. They also dragged in John Hawley for a snippet of a telephone call and his views. Although I personally remember him from the 70's with a great deal of pleasure, I bet half the fans at City don't even know who John Hawley is! Clutching at straws anyone? Still that's 'news' I suppose? It's just about filling airtime I am afraid and nothing to do with what we might call 'news'. What price Peter Swan or Dean Windass talking on the phone later? That ll then give them tomorrow's Hull City 'news'. The sausage machine rolls on.............
Their style of output got you listening to them with a keen interest in hearing what they had to say though.
