If you look at his united performances. Refs when an incident happens are supposed to stand back and watch who does what. Webb has on many occasions prevented United players, Fletcher for one, from getting into trouble by holding him back, he has placed himself to shield United players on more than one occasion when incidents flare up, this is very strange as we know Barton was allowed to run amok v City and the ref just watched it all unfold as what refs are supposed to do, they are not meant to get into the middle of players ect, that aint their job

But Webb isn't viewed as a 'terrible referee' by his association, the FA, the Premier League, UEFA & FIFA is he? Webb gets these games as he's carved a niche for himself as the main man when it comes to 'big games'. For me, he's a ref that usually takes the path of least resistance, & avoids making contentious decisions, by not making a decision! He's the polar opposite of Clittenberg. Webb does come across as a ref that seems to give most of the decisions to the home team, whoever they are, explains why he always seems to be the common choice for ref for utd at home games
