We welcome the return of old favourite Chops if selected. I suspect he will never be the same guy who famously "came over the hill" when we desperately needed him...he suffered the worst kind of problems, and he will probably never recover from his addiction, although one hopes he will. A deserving win thanks to HH at theirs earlier when DJC stole one. Need to get back to league action with a good win against McCarthy's men....not an easy one!
mccarthy is a shrewd operator at this level, his team will come to the CCS to keep things tight and nick a goal, we have dealt with 12 out of 13 teams who have done this. on paper a game we will win (but that means nothing of course) , and i hope the week off for the entire first team will pay dividends.......
We have been a far better side under McCarthy... also, we do seem to have had quite a good time in recent years when playing your lot (apart from earlier this season ofcourse) but I fancy that we'll put in another good shift and come away with a point. As for Chops, he has split opinion here. He has promised a lot but never really delivered, he seems to need 10 chances to score 1 (which isn't like the Chops we bought) in fact we bought DJ in on loan to (effectively) replace him but now DJ is back at QPR it's really up to Chops to prove a point and I fancy he'll get a goal at your place but continue to be indifferent for us.
See our luck in running again. Yet another team that has bought in new players immediately before paying the City. 2 this time. How many times has this happened this season now? Luckily so far it hasn't done them too much good.
Swampy - Peterborough didn't. The only ones to beat us because they came and took the game to us with no fear. If McCarthy comes with the same approach, we'll need perform a lot better than we did against Fergie junior.
Ipswich have signed 2 strikers in McLean and McGoldrick who, on their day, could cause us problems. However, Mclean has don't much at Hull since joining them from Peterboro. McGoldrick did well while on loan at Coventry in Div. 1 but has never proved his potential at Championship level. Sod's law they will both do well on Saturday!!! Also, there are media reports that Ipswich are still trying to get D J (The Handyman - taught Suarez all he knows)) Campbell back from QPR. However, Palace are also in the mix for him.
No, it's all Dom's fault. He's set me off with the beastiality stuff and I'm going out to look for a sheep.
yea that was wrong of me, they came to put us in our place and we never recovered from a slow start. we also started poorly against palace but ground out the win. i cant see ipswich coming here and winning, though its impossible to say with any certainty...
Cardiff has always been a happy hunting ground for us and we are certainly capable of getting at least a point.
You deserved it too We have improved a heck of a lot since then but yes it will be a big ask for us on Saturday. The mad nature of this league means that strange results do often happen and all we need is to catch you on an off day!
JWM We had that against Peterboro so can't see it happening again so soon - but you never know in this league. 3 new strikers for you this week. The 2 Mc's are okay but we've seen Nouble a few times over the years and he has been rubbish. Will probably get 3 against us now. Think many will make the trip?
That's very gracious of you JWM, but I don't think we did. You battered us first half up there and us going in only 1-0 down was not a fair reflection of the game - it should have been more (even if Campbell did use both hands). Second half you could have sewn it up but got the collywobbles in the last 15. Heidar stole a couple and the rest is history. Always worry about you lot home or away to be honest, and Saturday will be no different.
We have a core Away support of about a 1000 and I will be there as I like my trips to Cardiff. We always seem to raise our game at your place so I hope the boys do well as we really need the points! We've had a shocking few years to be honest and at last with Mick McCarthy in charge we really look to be turning the corner. My heart says 2-1 Town but my head is saying 2-1 Cardiff!
