ESPN coverage of incident, predictable! They are after all a Media company that broadcasts sports and sports news, we all know good news has a life span of about 10 seconds, bad news GOOD!!! It’s soo much better to report on, last longer and creates more follow-up stories!

Jon Champions instant proclamation that Suarez cheated, predictable and at times unpleasant and rather venomous!
Chris Waddle, being a sheep by following Champions lead.

Mansfields gesture for the 96, fantastic
Mansfields play in the second half (regardless of how we played) superb
Mansfields pitch, whilst not great, was what’s expected of a non-league team, they don’t have the millions to pay enough dedicated groundsmen to ensure the pitch is in good nic.
The response of Mansfields players (most of them) and the Manager to the second goal, refreshingly honest.

I did state on a post following the draw what a sorry state the Mansfield ground in general was in. They have had ongoing battles with the owner of the ground, who locked them out a while ago and threatened to 'never let them play on it again' Not sure who would have been the bigger loser there but still, it was a terrible ground. My nephew is a Stags fan, as we are based in between Chesterfield and Mansfield and he was quite honest in his appraisal of the match. He stated 'there's no shame in losing to goals from our new signing (keen to make an impression) and another from one of/if not the best forwards in England'

I have been abused beyond belief but not from Mansfield fans, but from Salford United fans who claim to support both Chesterfield and United - These same fans were almost coming to blows with Mansfield following Chesterfields Semi final against Middlesborough, when Stags fans were celebrating Chesterfields exit - The irony of those United fans is almost comical!

JB - lets be a bit more honest here - Mansfield 'prepared' their pitch. They trained on the fecker 24hours before and given its already boggy nature, cut it up nicely.

Its their prerogative to do that, just as cricket teams prepare a wicket to bounce and seam, or to be slow and turn. Its down to the visiting team to cope with the conditions...

and we did cope... its lazyness that made us sit on 2-0 and let them back in... bar their big CB who i thought played really well they were dross. which of course is only to be expected. i was disappointed in shelvey again. it was his chance to show when gerrard is out or to be taken off that he's the guy to call on but all he did was walk around i nthe second half.

on pitches... let me say that we've in the past seen "minnows" pull off heroics to get pitches in good condition in freezing weather to host fa cup ties. i mean real heroics where guys are bringing in straw and covering pitches and voluterring to sweep snow and they have had great little pitches.

seriously...... our local sunday league set up has a much better pitch than that.. the middle of that pitch on one side was terrible, the ball wasn't rolling so i would have to ask if heavy rain had have been coming down would marriner be forced to adandon... pretty much i think.

so all the espn focus on their ceo cos she was a "hottie" they really didn't adopt the best foot forward approach like others have done did they?

And everyone else would call us bullies and sore losers and that "these things happen in a game"

So lets round this up shall we:

1.Referees stated it hit his hand, they saw it at the time & thought it wasn't deliberate due to circumstances (ball rebounding at pace etc etc) so allowed game to play on.

    2. Video replays suggest that while Suarez looked like he believed he would get blown up and looked frustrated when hitting it into the net he was not in charge of the whistle.

3.the replays can never prove it was or was not a hand to ball, so no agreement will be reached on that point. Even if it was deliberate it is again the job of the official to judge (see point 1)

    4. It is Suarez job to play to the whistle. Anyone that's played officiated sports has that drilled into them from day one.

    5. Every other example bar one (referee was actually breaking the rules of the game) of a player "owning up" has not resulted in a change in decision.

    6. No one directly involved in the game but Mansfields CEO stated it was unfair & her actual quote referred as much to the officials as Suarez "cheating". the manager & bulk of players DIRECTLY quoted all accepted it as part of game & would have welcomed a result their way by those means, any match.

7.Almost every Player/Ex player of the professional game that has voiced an opinion since incident, said either it wasn't deliberate and or Suarez was right to play to whistle.

    8. A quick google check of "Suarez wrist kiss" will bring up confirmation of it being his goal celebration.

So, what actually is left to debate about this one?

By all means folks start a thread "we don't like Suarez so want to rant about him" but this little excuse is washed completely out.

On point 5. Robbie Fowler v Arsenal, admitted to ref hey not penalty, but the ref said, I awarded the penalty, there's nothing I can do mate <ok>

So owning up does fk all as the ref's decision is instant almost.

Makes me laugh this takes me back the the WC. Handball on the line, somehow I think that has happened many times in the top flight in England but never mentioned at ALL

BBF, it could also be that Fowler was trying to ensure that Seaman was not going to receive a red card - after all he did put the penalty away

Liverpool are cheaters and if that's the only way they can win against a non league club then they must be desperate....so let them have the game that will never again see them as a fair club....shanks would turn in his grave if he was to see how liverpool has gone to a bunch of cheaters..... shameful liverpool has lowered their once high standards to cheating a non league club out of a replay and a pay day....
