Dirtyfrank. My "integrity" is not "new found". I was born with it. Seems like maybe it passed you by. Sad for you, really, but hey not my problem. Fortunately,my behaviour and beliefs are not fashioned by professional footballers.
frank, the media have their own agenda. They are the true harlots in the equation. They spout moralistic claptrap whilst spinning the story in such a way that it appears to earn them the best return. As for St. Veg and boots, they are only scratching their dire need to WUM. Instead of responding to them we should be concentrating our eforts on finding them some less harmful psychological relief.
1. smithy.. why bother replying to him... "lucratvie replay" go look up the rules regarding who get what from away ites in the fa cup. 2.for the record... if ANY prem player pulled a di canio in that situation every fan and their manager would be raging. the media can make column inches out of anyhting. 3. i think RVP could have gotten his hea dout of ashley willimas way if he really wanted to what crap. 4. lfc were lazy, suso was hauled off for being far too sloppy and shelvey never bothered i nthe second half leading to hendo having to come on and run about while shelvey was only interested in standing about. 5. if anyone bothers actually watching that game just look at us tapping it about at the back and count the number of manfiedl players in our half... we pulled every one of their mifield forward and one decent pass was needed to kill them. they were bloody awful and its lazyness that meant we didn't score 6.... we were not really bothered, especially at 2-0 and coasting cos i can tell you some players wouldn't get within 50 feet of the bench in my mind having played that way.
Exactly! - why would you try and move your arm out of the way if you are deliberately trying to handle it? Or did Suarez plan and execute it perfectly to make it look like an accident (?) It's amazing how the likes of Peter Crouch weren't villified for when he handled the ball and scored against Man City (I think).
Yes jaffa, this was all pointed out last night. Run at me full speed as i kick a ball at you, just see where your hands are. Even if you react by sticking your foot up, your natural balance will raise your hand. That's not to say it shouldn't have been disallowed (i notice the officials are now claiming they did see it but didn't disallow it ) but for once i found myself agreeing with Poll in that if you gain an advantage like that it should be disallowed. At least this time he didn't claim it should have been disallowed on the basis of Suarez's reputation. In summary, there was no master plan or deliberate deceit on Suarez's part until AFTER he turned around and saw it was given. Wow, what a criminal - I can think of two goalkeepers, one from the Shight and one from Manure, who deliberately and knowingly played on when they knew perfectly well they'd allowwed the ball to cross the line and it should have been a goal to their opponents. I may be wrong, but I cannot recall the same supporters of those clubs taking to the airwaves and social media en-masse as they are now to condemn their players after those incidents.
I’m sorry, this is where your argument ends “But it was a Brighton player, one most of us will have barely of heard of, so we don't know it he's got 'history' in that department.” WTF has history got to do with cheating? What, because he could be a first time offender, it makes it alright? Because he isn’t Suarez, it makes it alright? Because he doesn’t play for Liverpool, you local rival’s make’s it alright? Because he plays for a Lower division club, it makes it alright? Anyway... I’m sure all that post on hear live in glass houses and have never thrown a stone!
Veg, will you please either post in a standard literary style i.e. sentences and paragraphs. Poetic form only truly works when there is either a rhyme or beat to follow.
If you read my comment properly before frothing at the mouth and responding with irrelevant drivel, you'd see I wasn't advocating players assisting refs that may have missed something, merely players not cheating in the first place. Not hard is it?
I also said that the Brighton player was out of order, that it was the officials fault at Mansfield & I also spelt out why Suarez made the headlines ahead of him - reputation, calibre of player, profile of club, but you've chosen to ignore that & get on a persecution rant, #predictable
Where did I suggest different rules apply? I was merely stating that you expect a 'win at all costs' scum bag like Suarez to pull this **** in a world cup quarter final for instance (another handball cough cough) but to do it against Mansfield shows even less class than I already thought he had. Surely you don't need to resort to such given the 'obvious' gulf in class....or maybe not.
Not at all Tobes; but to apply morals to one player in a televised game on a weekend when other televised incidents also occurred; reveals the intent behind a lot of the debates participators. Which is fair enough, I accept a wind up but take the right to call it such. Suarez is a win at all costs player, not the first of this type and not the last. Some fans tolerate it others don't like it. But to be moralistic about an opposition player like he invented each misdemeanour but not then highlight others negates the strength of the moral stand. I don't mind someone making the effort to come on to a team board to discuss the events in which their team played no part & saying "as a football fan in general, I believe it was a deliberate handball & the goal should not have stood". I disagree but that's debate. I don't mind someone with this view saying they don't like players that are prepared to do that but......they in my opinion should then be prepared to answer my question as to why they don't make that same effort everytime they witness such an act. it can't be about "moral stands" if they can't be arsed just because its a less known team or player. If they don't I get to question their motives & morals.
Foredeck. "standard literary style" !!! On this Board, you are kidding me right? Why not have a stroll through the posts, and then come and talk to me about "literary style",or ANY kind of "style".
Not at all. I just don't go declaring my morals on a football forum using a footballer as an example. You did; so to anyone reading your sanctimonious posts it looks very much like you do evaluate your moral standing based on the actions of footballers. And I repeat. The fact that you are selective about where you state your moral position & who you use as a negative example makes that stand a tenuous one. Your apparent intent undermines your integrity. But please carry on, its amusing.
Great post, it was clearly an accidental handball. Maybe there needs to be a special 'fess up' area at every ground with enough confessionals and priests to cater for each side. If every player decided to start owning up about their attempts to 'influence the game' that would be just as absurd since it's basically how the game's played today, teams are always looking for the competitive edge, whether it's through something as silly/minor as claiming a throw-in that isn't yours, diving, or the really outrageous 'hand of god' stuff.
