I believe that OLM said that we had the option to buy him for 500k. Clearly we should have took that deal and it was a mistake in hindsight not to.
Looking back at that post, it makes sense now, and Man Utd wouldn't have sold him to us last Summer. Fergie wanted to keep him.
Good signing in my opinion. It is quite a lot but he's young and English. Really all young English players should be cheap as chips due to their lack of technical ability however clubs end up paying inflated prices. No wonder its rare for English players to play abroad
Yeah, and you've been constantly stating how much you disagree with your clubs transfer policies, haven't you Nobead?
I think he is from Dublin, one of the few Irish internationals that are actually Irish. We are Hull beat me to it.
Woops. Lol can't claim I follow hull all that much just assumed. Price does seem a lot then. Irish players are normally cheap as anything it's just because he's from Manure then. In a way Man U remind me of Apple. Good products but you pay like 40% extra for the brand.
We can't just loan them forever though... Looking at it the other way, we're paying for players we know will do well in our system which is not guaranteed with normal signings. If we didn't spend the £4m we'd have gone backwards. We do still need to improve the team with a striker as well as signing these two though.
Yup. I said Brady was a good signing I ain't trying to wind anyone up. James, Drinkwater and DeLaet where over priced because they have been schooled at Man U. All three have shown they are very capable players. Drinkwater was probably our player of 2012 and both James and DeLaet have shown recently they could prove vital cogs in our team with their recent improvements in form
We wont sign elmo on a perm. He is here on a season long loan and we have the option to buy him if we are promoted. It wouldnt make sense to spend the money on elmo that we should be spending on a striker or goalie.
I think Brady is a good signing and we should make some money off him, as long as we really arnt paying 2.5 million upfront and it is a fee rising to 2.5 million. I am surprised that you all didnt come in for him actually.
