Man City defeat Spurs 1-0 thus guaranteeing 4th spot and confirming that we will be playing in Europe next season.
Great news and i am glad it didn't go down to the man city game.Who do you fancy in Europe then SGT i would love AJAX .Lets make sure we go straight in the Group stages with victory on saturday.Watched the game tonight Tevez looked sharp but doubt he will last the 90 mins on sat.
Some nice Romanian side to give us a great chance. Is that right Conroy? IF we beat Man City on Saturday we go straight to the group stages and don't even have 1 qualifying match?
Would it be possible for us to play Cork City Peadar? Not being an expert on the Irish Leagues I wouldn't know. I'm asking as I wouldn't mind an excuse to get over to Cork to see some of my Irish family.
Well who would have thought it, little old Stoke in Europe !! Fantastic achievement for the club. Can this season get any better ?? See you all at Wembley Goooaaarrrn Stoke
Just checked UEFA Wensite ITS complicated countrys are seeded but it looks like one qualification match if we win it.
No, Cork were booted out of the league and reformed at the bottom the season before last for financial irregularities. The clubs in Europe next season are Shamrock Rovers (SW Dublin, Champion's League qualfiers), Bohemians and St. Patrick's Athletic (both inner-city Dublin), and Sligo Rovers (Sort of a Blackpool-ish position, on the North-West coast), those three are Europa League. To be honest, I don't think any of them would be too much of a problem for Stoke, unless we got Sligo on a good day, they might be able to pass it around us like Blackpool did at the Brit earlier this season. If we drew one of the Dublin sides, it's only a 3 hour train journey up from Cork these days, so I'm sure you could sort out something with the family. Sligo would be more difficult, seeing as transport in the West is absolutely ungodly!
Congratulations from a Southampton fan, as my dad lives in Stoke, i see them as my second team so very happy about a possible FA cup and European adventure! Over the last few seasons you've had a few ex-saints players on your books so always nice to follow their careers. Enjoy the success and treasure the memories.
This is great for the club. This will encourage the better players we need to go to the next level to join us. Europe, albeit the Europa League, will definitely make us a more attractive proposition.
Liverpool fan in peace. Congratulations on Europe! Hope you do well in the Europa League next season. You never know, if my team get 5th, we could meet in the Europa League next season!
As the final showed with the injuries we have,we need a stronger bench if we hope to get anywhere in europe.
The midfield especially. The very thought of Delap in Europe terrifies me. Luckily we may look a more appealing prospect than in previous seasons so maybe, with West Ham going down and Parker will probably end up at Spurs, maybe we should go for someone like Palacios? He's been linked with us in the past and he is a Pulis type midfielder. I hope we really invest in the centre of midfield. Someone like David Vaughan who is out of contract would be perfect. He'd be a great cage midfielder, great passer, can cover at left back and left midfield.
Hi Sgt... Totally agree mate...........I hope you're feeling a little less down today, our time will come again.
A little less down but still distraught. I hope our time will come again but it seems that unless you have a foreign billionaire your chances of winning something in England are very remote.
