Please, dear Christ, buy Cameron Stewart. I went to the Cup Game, hoping he'd improved and would be looking to kick-start his career again, but he was utter ****e. Couldn't beat his man, his crosses either didn't beat the first man, or were way too deep. He passes backwards more than anywhere else, and has just lost all confidence. If you buy him, I would hold Leicester City in high regards for the rest of my life, considering that we would probably struggle to even give him away at the moment...
Yes lads, I know what you're all thinking too. ^ He's one of the 'Stewart is worth 5m at least' brigade.
We had the same with Waggy at the start of the season. You just have to play him through it. A bit of management and he will be fine. (Not a dig at Bruce by the way)
Stewart doesn't look worth 50p at the moment mate... He does really, but if I was him, returning to play for my parent Club, I'd want to be trying to prove something, and contending for that first team place which he didn't seem to want to do. All you can ask for as a fan, is enthusiasm. He didn't show any at all. He wants to be elsewhere. I don't think Brucey is over-keen on him to be brutally honest. Even Burnley fans were begging for us take him back early. He needs to drop down a League or two, and find his feet again.
You'd say the same about Danns if you watched our 1st Burton game, but he is still a quality player...
You're point is...? Danns and Stewart are completely different players and look to have fallen out of form for different reasons. Stewart seemed to have ran on adrenaline after his injury and a few games in and an offer from Nigel Pearson, his head turned and he's never been the same player since. If he doesn't want to be here, he needs to be gone or else show some enthusiasm and fight for a spot.
Seems like he's lost faith in your club. Definitely time for him to move on. The question is simply - at what level?
League 1 would do him good. It's not a entirely bad League in terms of ability and yet it's a level at which I think he'd be comfortable enough to regain some confidence.
We really don't need another winger ATM. A DM and consistency is what we need. I think this was just another classic case of 'who is performing well that we can buy'.
It's not impossible that Pearson may signing him and loan him out to get fit, but I doubt it. If we're serious about getting promoted (which we are) then I can't see him making it in the Prem. The more I think about it, the more unlikely it seems that we'll sign him.
I can't see this happening. He would not get in the team ahead of the quality we have already in Marshall, Knockaert, even Dyer! Maybe a decent sub to come on if he got fit and hit form again, but not for me, leave him at Hull.
I think that's a big part of his problem. He just seems to lack any genuine enthusiasm for the game - he has some of the necessary physical attributes (mainly pace) but seems nervous of any contact and seems to lack the basic anticipatory skills required. He drifts about from place to place as if he's not really sure what he should be doing or where he should be standing. Under Nigel Pearson he started off showing occasional flashes of skill which hinted at future promise but I can only recall two decent games that he managed before his injury. When he came back he had an excellent game for Nick Barmby at Derby and then just went backwards again. Clearly, Eddie Howe (who is an excellent coach) couldn't make anything of him either and I think that Steve Bruce is coming to the conclusion that, although he's a nice lad, he just lacks the essential mentality and determination of a professional athlete.
Maybe he is like Matty Fryatt. Never worked for anyone other then Nigel Pearson. Nigel probably knows how to manage Stewart and others dont
Fryatt was pretty fine under Nick Barmby? And Stewart was at his best under Barmby IMO. Nigel Pearson just signed them.
Just spotted this one - I think AKCJ is mixing Cameron Stewart up with James Chester and Nigel Pearson's throw away line on Radio Humberside.
Not really the case though - as Amber Magic says, Cameron Stewart never really showed a significant improvement under Nigel Pearson even though he persisted with him. He was injured for most of the second season and didn't get back playing until about the time that NP left - he then had two very good games on his return with the best one on Nick Barmby's watch at Derby. His initial deterioration in form was thought to be a combination of a reaction to his comeback after a long injury and some mental disruption associated with NP's alleged interest.
http://www1.skysports.com/football/...dergoing-a-medical-at-Hull-City-ahead-of-move I swear when we were linked with him the fans told us he was nothing but fancy stepovers Cue: Hull fans saying the is the most promising player yet and never said that
