United fans don't seem keen either. I do feel like as though if he does sign, we could make serious profit off him in the future.
If thats the case then he will have done a good job for us. Good to see two signings nearly done in the first week of the window, makes a real difference. Elmo next????
We will make more off him than Leicester have and will do on some of the overpaid/priced crap that Sven spunked your money on
3.5M is hell of alot to spend when your not improving your team You should of looked to extend the loans and spent the money on new players instead of turning loan permanent
Brady and Meyler have given that extra flare and what we needed though. They're both young prospects and I can see why we wanted them permanently. I agree we should have loaned them both to the end of the Season, but do you want them to lose faith at the end of the year, as loan players normally do, when it really matters and not play with the same intensity or form. I'd rather have them tied down and be able to fully push for Promotion. All we need now, is a striker and we're sorted.
Cheers Mystic Meg, how much will we get for him then? If only you worked for the club Proud, I forgot you had more managerial experience and nous than Bruce.
And where did you get this theory from? What if Brady improved massively over the Season and his price inflated as a result? Best to grab what you can, while you can. There's never a better time to grab young prospects and promotion than now since as in FFP comes in next Season.
We are improving the team though, the loan's were due to expire in January and for all we know our only chance of keeping them was to buy them or their club's would have either kept them (Meyler), or loaned them to a prem club instead (Brady). Elmo is on a season long loan already although O'Neill might recall him. For now the focus will be on getting that striker we need. At the end of the day we've got to 2nd without one and we're at best, a team with play-off ambitions without Brady, Elmo and Meyler. Bruce said the priority was the loanees this window, he's done everything right upto now as far as I'm concerned.
Even if that were true it would show his value has increased by 10x in 6 months. So buying him now is an excellent move. It could've been £20 million if we'd waited till Summer the way the lads going.
Don't give him stuff to claim, because even if he did mean this Summer coming up, he'll change his mind now! Although that would make sense. Still, my point stands so I can dismiss claims of buying him for less next Summer when someone mentions it!
Don't believe Lesster fans coming on here offering their advice on how a club should buy players and agree contracts. You couldn't make it up! please log in to view this image
