It could be worse, we could be in Man Citys embarrasing position where they are paying in some cases 90%+ of the wages of players they have out on loan
Jan is looking congested now, because our Boxing day game was postponed and we now have an FA cup replay. I would rather see us get the right players in rather than panic buy simply to get somebody in before the game today.
I agree Piskie, but I'm not building hopes up that anyone will come in, perhaps one but nothing big. The work to bring players in for January must be done weeks beforehand, Chelsea clearly moved quickly (even if it did mean paying the player to leave) by getting one out and one in, all confirmed in the first few days of Jan. They clearly decided Sturridge had no future and Ba was the man they wanted so they went out and got both deals done, I doubt the decision was taken at a New Years party, more likely negotiated (underhanded or otherwise) some weeks ago
How do you know we're not working on negotiations as we speak ? All well and good if you can get your business done and dusted in the first week of the window, but I would suggest that there are many variables, most of which are outside of Arsenal's control that go into completing a transfer. I'm willing at least to wait until the end of the window to make a judgement.
You can only have a certain amount of players in a PL squad(I think it's 25) so sending players out on loan is freeing up space for possibly new arrivals
