I think he clipped Ramsey which makes it a foul. If it happened the other way and replays showed there was contact I would expect it to be given against us abd if it wasnt I would think we had got away with it.
Dissapointed by the poor defending once more. Not a good way to start our week. Cazorla, TW14, Kos , Per, Sagna were poor.
Ramsey came good in the second half, i applauded him off. It should've been a penalty, there was clear contact, from one of the angles it looks like no contact was made, but contact was made.
Arguably the worst game by Mertesacker this year. He actually gave them a clear opportunity to win it 3-2 but got lucky there. And after that poor clearance by Podolski from the corner (he actually assisted there) it was Mert's side not covered again, even if Sagna could have done better there.
In reference to whether our squad can handle the congestion, Wenger said we still had quite a few players not featuring today, AND with the addition of 1-2 new players, we should be fine. Good to hear him bringing up new players, as it wasn't even part of the Q, he brought it up himself, so it does seem he has intentions of making signings.
Didn't see the game, but caught the last two minutes on the radio. Glad to hear Ramsey did well. If you're praising him, he must have done well
I didn't even want to see him subbed off when he came off. :-D. But Podolski did good, so no harm done.
Oh and Giroud's assist was almost identical to the previous Podolski volley. He was unlucky not to score, but his link up was great. Walcott didn't raise his head all game. He's resorting to templates more than ever. Line up a shot and go for the low far corner. Cazorla was completely clear with acres of space, which would have been a tap in... This isn't the first time either, he gets an average of 3 decisions like those wrong per game. And in non-comical games missing those ~ 100% chances will cost games. Not going to face Reading and Newcastle every week.
Our game was arguably harder than the Mancs and we should have won it... so we played ok. Disappointed with the first half but we raised our game in the second in the attacking sense. However our defending was horrible today in every respect.
With ref to Toledo and whether conceding is ever acceptable: Conceding from a sublime piece of skill or a wondergoal is absolutely fine, you tip your hat and say "well done." Conceding through sloppy defending is not acceptable for a supposed Top 4 premierleague defense. Yes, mistakes will happen, but when you see the comedy of errors that has happened to the Arsenal defense lately, you have to ask yourself, why aren't they getting the basics right?
Good game lads, that's the best shift you've put in against us this season, you put us under some pressure, and we got sloppy, thought you were going to win it, but we had the last word on that, look forward to the re-match, we play better away this season!..............
