McLaren MP4-28: Launch date Thursday 31st January

McLaren will reveal their 2013 challenger, the MP4-28, on Thursday 31st January.
The British team fell to third in the Constructors' Championship this year and will be eager to bounce back with their new line-up of Jenson Button and Sergio Perez.
The team say the launch will take place in the UK, but did not specify where, perhaps hinting it may not be at the McLaren Technology Centre.
McLaren's launch will be the day before Force India's, which takes place at their Silverstone base.

Is it me, or is that quite late for a big teams release date?

 

It's quite early for a big team, especially for Mclaren.

 

it is quite early, especially as they are changing some fundimental areas. get ready for unreliability

 

It's not the earliest that they've released their car, but nor is it the latest. Seems a bit odd to base speculation on it.

 

I wish the new season would hurry up and arrive, its still ages away aghhhhh

 

The car at the unveil will most likely not be the finished article, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Last years unveil car saw some fairly significant changes by the time round 1 came around.

 

Anyone else like me and get really excited about pre season testing???

 

Yeah I always enjoy testing.

 

I always over-analyse it

 

What else is there to do pre season?

 

I watch all my season review dvds and I read all my James Allen books at the same time. Then, when I'm done with that I read Jenson's book of the 2009 season.

 

Morris Dancing, Crown Green Bowling, Competitive Mustache Growing, Topiary, Soapy Twister, Crochet.... The list is endless.

 

I decided to take up gathering dust on my own every evening whilst slowly drinking my self into a mind-festering coma.

 

While not doing the gathering dust part.. I have however been drinking myself in to a coma too. Hic! Not good kids! Stick to the Ribena!

This calls for another drink.

 

Ive just seen a Vodaphone Mclaren Mercedes lorry on my way to work. I wonder where it is heading??

I was driving in the sticks of east anglia not in Germany

 

There's a ferry port at Harwich which connects with Holland. If you're going to Germany from Woking, that might be preferable to a channel crossing then a longer drive.

 

Nope it was heading towards Norfolk on the road to Diss
