I'm sad to see him go but I can't blame him as its a big opportunity for him, starting another career possibly for the rest of his life.

Yep....just read he wants to go down the manager road and this could be his chance.

Would hate to see him go, honestly i would. He has been a rock for us but life goes on for him with or without the rrrrs.

All the best for the man whichever road he goes on.

Is he not under contract to the end of the season?

Yes, but probably has a manager/coach release clause...quite common for someone his age with coaching aspirations.

Even if he didn't, no decent manager would stand in his way. Good luck to him...

I don't see that we are in a position to be so generous as to let him just go mid-season! He is key to our fight to stay in the PL and if he is contracted to us rest of the season we should make sure he honours it. Then if he is such a good Manager prospect end of season, offer him a new contract on the coaching side, player/coach possibly.

We are dealing with a £ multi million investment and business here not some play group. The managers first and only responsibility is to the future of QPR. I must assume he has a release clause - if not any respect I have for HR or TF would disappear.

So you would deny a player a big opportunity and then expect him to sweat blood for you? Strange motivation technique that...

This is the most sensible comment on this matter, totally agree.

I'm disappointed that he would let us down like this, unless it was seen as a possibility right from when he signed and there was a release clause in his contract to allow for it. Nevertheless, it is a golden opportunity for him and there is nothing to be gained by holding him against his will because it would be reflected in his peformance.

Agreed, but I for one won't forgive him (not that he'll be bothered I'm sure).

I'm not so sure telling him something like, sorry mate you signed for the season, we need you as you can see, and we'll do our best for you in May, but for now we need you to go on playing for us at your best, will result in Nelsen not doing his best for us. He seems the type who will give all on the pitch, whatever.

I would be very disappointed if he leaves us in the lurch. Is there any loyalty these days?

    Don't think there is tbh.
Many on here were saying that they would think less of Adel if he chose his country over his club and yet hardly any seem to view the possibility of Nelsen buggering off dimly at all!

Put it this way, we were collectively underwhelmed when he signed as a squad player last summer. I don't remember anyone on here saying it was a forward-looking signing. I'm pretty sure the signing was on that basis and that if a management opportunity arose he'd be released. Don't take out on a player who has excelled this season your frustrations of a manager who got the WHOLE squad so horribly wrong...

IMO it doesn't matter did he signed to be a squad player or a first team player. The fact is he DID signed and that's all that matter.
